Part easy, part challenging. Overall it was pretty fun. All the skills and tools have purpose and there are puzzle explanations if we don't understand how something works. That was appreciated lol Expect multiple playthrough if you're looking for full achievements.

I've had this game in my queue to play for a while, and it certainly was interesting to play through. You play as Count Dracula, who starts the game having woken up weak from a previous fight with Van Helsing to see that his love, Mina, had been captured and the Queen of Vampires was in the process of taking over the world. You spend the story trying to stop her. The storyline was very good, and I did enjoy it for the most part. I will say that in comparison to the beginning of the game, the ending did seem a little rushed, but they at least tied up what loose ends they could. In addition to the cutscenes from the game, you do also get a journal that fills with information the further into the game you go so that does tie up any loose ends about the story. Gameplay itself was sort of a hit or a miss. I enjoyed the storyline and the extra little powers you get as you get further in the game. I enjoyed both the puzzles and the hidden object games, especially since they were both pretty interesting. The only issue I had was some of the puzzles were difficult and the objects in the HO games had a really small click box, so thinner items were harder to click. However, I did immensely appreciate having the Strategy guide be in the game itself so we could reference that as needed (though some of the hints were difficult to understand for some puzzles) The music was interesting, but I honestly didn't focus on it too much. It was definitely spooky, but not something I would want to listen to outside of the game itself. The noises it made when you changed scenes was a little much sometimes, but otherwise, I didn't mind the ambiance and the little gameplay noises that were incorporated. The achievements, while initially overwhelming, are achievable within a couple of playthroughs and are not overtly difficult to acquire. I personally enjoyed the challenge of getting the achievements in this game, especially since this game remembers all the choices you make. This game overall is something I would recommend. Would I play it again? Probably not. But the experience of playing it was definitely good enough for me to recommend playing it, especially since it is an older HO game. Definitely is worth its price point with everything the game includes.

It's cheap, it's a few hours of entertainment, and it's fun. Sure, it's definitely "dated" but it's dated in a way that's kind of endearing. The majority of the game is point and click with relatively simple puzzles. If you're struggling with the puzzles, just wait enough time and you can skip them. By and large a very enjoyable experience.

The cutscenes are dated but the story is good. You do need two full playthroughs for all of the achievements. This makes it a decently long game for this genre. The puzzles are variable but quite a few are tough ones! The HO scenes love rats, snails, snakes, spiders, bugs and swords. The bottles of blood can be missable, so it is advised not to use the fast travel when it pops up.

Much like the over game from this company, that I loved (Their Sherlock Holmes one) I absolutely loved this game! It is easily one of the best HOPA games I've ever played. First, the puzzles are super hard. Each one was a challenge that I relished in. Though I admit I did end up skipping two... But the plot was excellent, the gameplay was so original and intriguing, and I saw so much originality from plot, HO, to puzzles. One thing I will say is that the game is very puzzle heavy. For those of you who don't care for puzzles, this might not be your cup of tea. But for someone like me this was my blood red wine. Just loved everything about this game. I can't recommend it enough. Especially. for people who want a unique HOPA experience.
