If you use a PlayStation controller on PC outside of Steam-only games, DSX is worth every penny. A lot of negative reviews seem to confuse “the controller works” with “the controller works properly everywhere.” Those are not the same thing. Yes, some games support PlayStation controllers natively, many don’t. Game Pass titles, Epic, Ubisoft, EA, emulators, older PC games, etc are a mixed bag. Steam Input helps, but it adds latency, causes double input issues, breaks native prompts in some games, and doesn’t behave consistently across platforms. DSX solves this cleanly by: • Providing proper Xbox (XInput) emulation • Working system wide, not just in Steam • Letting PlayStation controllers work reliably across all PC games and platforms • Avoiding Steam Input quirks entirely • Offering advanced features and profiles if you want them, without forcing them If DSX didn’t exist, I would genuinely struggle to get many games working correctly with my PlayStation controller. It turns “will this game support my controller?” into “it just works.” Complaints about “paying for features already built into the controller” miss the point, Windows does not natively handle PlayStation controllers the way games expect. DSX is doing real work at a software level, and that work deserves support. DSX is stable, well maintained, and extremely useful. If you care about consistent controller support on PC, this is one of the best tools available.

it does what it says, just one bad thing before you buy: full, wireless support of this thing is in the DLC which costs extra money, so keep that in mind if you think you will be all set with only this piece of software

I honestly don't understand why it's "mixed" reviews here. I mean it's great! This is among the most feature-rich pieces of software I have seen in a long time. Anything I could possibly want to adjust/configure/use my Dualsense is here! Custom profiles - check Can load profiles depending on game and switch back after closing - check Adjust any button to do anything I want - check Have all the data I could possibly ever need to see if my controller functions properly - check Adjust lighting options and make them useful (battery indicator) - check Starts up with windows and works seamlessly - check And so so many more! And with the DLC (Which is super cheap I paid like 2.50€ for it) I can even use the native Dualsense support in games that have it! No more messing around with steam input and trying to get it to work. It just works! If there is one thing I'd like (And maybe there is and I haven't found it) then I'd like to be able to press a button combo and for DSX to fix the double input thing without me having to tab out of the game. Sometimes I launch the game before turning the controller on and then I have to tab out and go into DSX to fix it. Not a big issue or anything but a button combo that'd do that from within the game would be nice! Aside from that top tier piece of software! Highly recommend it. Does everything I want and more and with no subscription BS or anything. Fair price for a good product.

Niche software for DualSense, but Pay2Use DLC for Emulation is so ahh

I once read that the best software, is the one you don't even notice when it's doing its job. Well, that's DSX in a nutshell (for me). My DualSense, DualSense Edge and DualShock 4 all work flawlessly without me ever having to do anything other than switching from Native to emulation mode.
