Embr is a mixed bag for me. I will acknowledge that the game is well made in terms of mechanics, however, the main issue is game design. When playing, you feel like the game goes through multiple identity crises: At first, the game is a fast paced fire rescue simulator, but it slowly transitions to learning levels, where layouts need to be learned to have a good score, instead of using problem solving with the tools at your disposal. And for some reason, some levels are bosses, and they don't fit in the gameplay at all. The narrative is quite basic but enjoyable, and so are the graphics and voice acting. This game is much more enjoyable with friends, but is also fun as a single player experience. Overall, Embr is a quirky game that I would only advise buying on sale, and maybe convince your friends to buy it with you.

Very fun arcade style fire fighting game! Picking it up on sale is a must, its not worth its full price tag, but for a couple quid its good. I played a few hours of this. First of all, it really scratches the itch for a firefighting type game - most I find are dull simulators, or games where firefighting is quite bland and the premise is taken way too seriously - which becomes tedious after a short period. With Embr, it feels much more arcadey, comical, and fun to play even in single player. It has a very pick-up and play style, loading into a game takes literally less than a minute from clicking launch. The lobbies in multiplayer work fine, but are few, so if its multiplayer you're looking for, it would be best to get friends some copies. The game modes keep it varied and unlockables add a funny edge to the game. All in all, good for sinking a few hours in, even for a singleplayer preference (like myself). I'm definitely going to keeping coming back to 100% it!

When you've been in the fire fighting business as long as I have, you learn that it's a numbers game, not everyone you throw off the top floor of a building will land safely on mattresses, but we save who we can.
