This is the perfect spot of rogue-like and monster catcher for me. I'm super happy I found this, it's exactly my niche. The only thing that would improve it for me would be more varied environments, otherwise I'm good.

Got it on sale, figuring it'd be worth it regardless of the things stated in the negative reviews. Immediately got hooked and kept doing run after run. Yes, sometimes it's brutal in scaling if you haven't balanced out your team. But it's not impossible and provides a fun challenge. The music is fun, graphics are cute and the mechanics are easy by itself but hard to fully master. I recommend this to everyone looking for that quick, cute dopamine hit that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg.

I like it. Got it on sale for 3 bucks so for that price it's a wonderful pokemon-esque roguelike. There's nothing really to compare it to - its Creature collector meets slay the spire type game loop and no one else has done this quite like this. I hope this gets a sequel or someone else makes a similar game cause HOT DAMN this could use some improvements. I would love this game so much with just a couple extra tweaks - 1) balancing - the rng is extremely stacked against you. I've only made it past the 2nd boss once. Most runs, even played with the best strategy, you're gonna get your ass whooped and die on the 2nd boss or earlier 2) a bit more meta-progression - as of now there exists 3 types of meta-progression but none of them are that helpful. You get new starter choices when you defeat a new boss (still haven't beat the third boss so stuck there), you can choose to snag either some currency OR items from previous run, and there's a box to put creatures for future runs. I'd love to see a skill tree or something that makes you feel like you're ACTUALLY building some progress. Or make it so there's an extra currency that can be used between runs to get an advantage for a future run. And final tweak I'd love to see 3) expand on the creature design and maybe change how evolution works. some of the creatures are extremely uninspired in their design. I would love to see some cooler designs. Also, you get strength in numbers, but you also get strength in evolving creatures through "fusions" - you have to fuse 3 creatures to get a more powerful one, but then you have two less creatures which can fuck you up. Sometimes I hate that I have to choose between having a bigger team or having some heavy hitters. 6.5 out of 10. With above changes I could see this game being a 10/10. Worth checking out for the price, but would someone please pick up this idea and expand on it!! We don't need any more only up clones or vampire survivors clones, we need a few evoling clones!

i like this a lot, its not too easy and not too hard. its not super balanced but that is ok, it feels really good when you get a combo of creatures and items that just work really well and there are a lot of good combos. getting a new creature is really fun, kinda the best part lol

That game really took me by surprise. It's genuinely good. Hard as heck, sure, well it's a roguelike after all so it can come down to luck every once in a while (I've seen a couple comment about the third boss, yeah, it's difficult, abusing sleep/freeze/sticky can help but it's doable with incremental damage/abusing bond) but damn satisfying. Anyways, it's great, figuring out the fusions is most of what I find fun, there's a sense of wonder in trying (or not) to mash up beasties together and getting something unexpected with very different mechanics (Omg SOLAR is probably one of my faves by virtue of its unique skills). On the downsides, there are a few, and maybe it's cuz I didn't pay attention, but I had a hard time figuring what is attacking what, what creatures are bonded together, and what some items do (a bit frustrated by the fact I'm unable to check my items outside of combat tbh, but again, maybe I haven't paid attention), and I'm pretty sure some creatures have passive skills but it doesn't seem I've been able to check that, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the heck out of it and trying the additional difficulty setting. For once I might even actively try shiny hunting, which I couldn't be made to care for in other creature collection games (that being said, in those other games, shinies tended not to have better stat progression, so, yeah)
