‎Zero / Project Zero original trilogy on PS2? ‎G.O.A.T! ‎ ‎Fatal Frame is called Zero (零) in Japan because of a clever Japanese wordplay: the kanji for "zero" (零) is pronounced "rei," which is the same sound as the kanji for "spirit" or "ghost" (霊). This pun beautifully captures the game's themes of spirits, nothingness, and the boundary between life and death, a meaning lost in direct translation to English, leading to localized titles like Fatal Frame (North America) or Project Zero (Europe). ‎ ‎Zero aka Fatal Frame series will always have that originality. ‎Within a special place inside my mind of precious gaming time memory. ‎And still my favorites among many. ‎Especially the original trilogy (Himuro Mansion - 2001, Crimson Butterfly - 2003 and The Tormented - 2005). ‎ ‎And as we all knew; any worldwide bestselling games, will eventually have their own multiple copycat versions of it. ‎Cheap knock-off, lame imitation, lazy counterfeit which the Forgers (not Anya's family from Spy x Family) will make defense of their wrongdoings by saying "We made it as a homage" or "We got huge inspirations from the original" just like that. ‎Never admits for their lack of creativity to make their own original game. Yet some clueless gamers will keep on buying it. ‎While a handful few of fake ones can sometimes be rarely much better than the original version, most often fails terribly. ‎ ‎At least I still have enough hope. That most of the originals will always be better than the rest. ‎No matter what. ‎ ‎Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water offers more modern, fluid gameplay with enhanced lens mechanics and quicker gameplay mechanism as any nowadays games. ‎While Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse (the original Wii title's remaster) provides classic, atmospheric survival horror with backtracking and a more traditional feel, often considered scarier. With game mechanism exactly like the original trilogy. ‎ ‎So in short; either of these two won't disappoint you. ‎ ‎As for me? I like both! ‎Enjoyed the plot so much. As well as the gameplay and pacing plus mind-blowing facts incorporate many elements based on real Japanese urban legends, ghost stories, and traditional rituals. ‎Also the unexpected plot twist in the end. ‎Chillax, no spoilers! ‎:3 ‎ ‎Thank you so much to KOEI TECMO GAMES CO., LTD. ‎For still making this ongoing series with its own originality intact, though some of the contents are slightly altered and even censored for the overseas, but not too much and still keep it on the right track. ‎ ‎The originals and purely uncensored, unaltered and free of cringe-inducing forced stuff? ‎Me stupendously likey! ‎b(^_^)d ‎ ‎-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- ‎ ‎That's all folks! ‎*But some of them still aimlessly lingers around* ‎ ‎Sooooo, do you want to know what's my fear of greatest horror? What's really terrifying for me all this time? ‎Keep reading, or else just skip, back to your daily personal stuff to do and focus on your life more. ‎Have a nice day! ‎ ‎....... (The several-minute equivalent of 'making cup ramen' later) ‎ ‎Whoa, still here? Alrighty then. ‎Thanks for your pure curiousity, as well as your excellent patience. ‎You're so epically awesome as a gamer buddy! ‎:3 ‎ ‎Mine is more of the greatest fear; from a game of modern remaster! ‎Especially, nowadays kind of remaster. Because it will be watered down / heavily toned down, censored, questionably altered, forcefully changed. ‎Why I discuss about this? ‎Because lately most old games that got remastered are losing their originality and not as purely fun as it was anymore. ‎Now I worry for any original games that will be make as remasters, especially for this game series. ‎Hopefully it is only my paranoia annoyingly teasing around. ‎I still prefer a remaster that we can easily switch it from the purest original version to overbearing modern gaming version at the touch of a button. ‎Be that as it may, everyone wins and they all live in happily ever after. ‎If only that is. ‎Sheesh.. ‎ ‎And that makes me quite hesitant to instantly buy any remasters lately. ‎Depending only on honest reviews of that remaster, see it on streaming platforms at first, ask myself ‎ ‎"Do I really like and need this game, or just because of the overhype by the FOMOs?" ‎ ‎And later on, decide if I will buy or skip it right after. ‎Well, enough is enough. ‎ ‎Thanks for your precious time of reading, understanding my fear of modern gaming, as well as enduring my ranting. ‎Sharing is caring. ‎ ‎Keep on gaming! ‎🕹️👾🎮🎧
