This game has the bones of something wonderful. Something challenging and fun, with a great art style that I want to play. That's why I will give this a positive.... With that said however, this game came out less than a month ago and has some of the most toxic people I've met... the game intro goes a bit like this: > Pick up Fellowship > Running through Tutorial, read everything what's going on > Get excited! > Choose a nice class that appeals to me > Let's go - Clicking the Quickplay Icon that the game wants you to click! > People lose their minds because you either pulled too little or too many > People tell you never to queue Quickplay again > Everyone leaves > You're left alone in a dungeon trying to figure out what the hell just happened.. This game is suppose to be like WoW Mythic Dungeons, but I was hoping to avoid the complete cancer that is PUGs in WoW M+... There are no consequences for leaving a group early, and abandoning others, so people just get in and immediately leave. It sucks and it's not welcoming to a new player in the slightest Like I said, the bones are there! The community will make or break this game, and currently it's set to break it. Damn shame.

First things first, I need to get this out of my system: F**K 3-RD PARTY GAME LAUNCHERS!!! If you publish your game on Steam, then launch the f**king game through STEAM. I don't wanna see your stupid ass b1tch ass stinky garbage lame launcher bullsh*t when I hit "Play". Either launch the game immediately or f**k off. Phew, okay, where was I? Game good. Great even. Very addicting. Now I don't have to pay for WoW sub to run M+ all day.

So here are my thoughts on the game as a World of Warcraft Mythic Plus veteran and Mythic Raider. The game on the whole is legitimately everything I've ever wanted in a game. I play WoW specifically for the two end games I previously mentioned. I don't really care for much else WoW has to offer. I do those things in WoW so I can go raid and do mythic plus because it is required of me. This game is playable out the box. I legitimately love this game. I don't really do steam reviews and I have 14k hours on some games. But I went out of my way to make this one because I genuinely love what this game is and I want to to be successful and get an even bigger following. I want this game to do well and pioneer this sub genre of game type (they're called MODAs multiplayer online dungeon adventures). I do want to note however to compare it to WoW in it's entirety as I've seen a lot of people do, is unfair. It's not an MMORPG. There is no questing (thank god) or any of that nonsense. It's just pure dungeon grind. That's it. It's as if someone just took the mythic plus game mode and made it into it's own thing with an automated dungeon finder. I want to touch on pros and cons now starting with the pros: 1. This game as mentioned is playable out the box. No addons or mods needed. Has a built in dps meter and boss cooldown timers and everything. The UI is editable. 2. The graphics are made so even a toaster oven could run it, which increases accessibility and reach for players 3. The tutorial is actually pretty well flushed out in my opinion. It covers all the basics you really need to know as far as combat goes in only a few minutes. It teaches you what interrupts are etc. from a tank perspective. I just wish they had a healer version as well to show dispels but this is in early access so I'm giving it grace. They even show you how to mark your interrupts so you don't overlap kicks. 4. When you fail to time a dungeon the worst thing that happens is you get less rating. There is no such thing as "key depletion" or any of that nonsense. You still get all the loot you would have as if you timed it. Whereas in mythic plus you could do like 8 dungeons and not get squat for it. And after you get the loot you just queue and try again. 5. Account progression is very alt friendly. Once you clear your first capstone and progress into the next league anything from the previous league is open and available on the vendor as a quick way to gear alts. Though each character does have to still progress through each league. 6. There is incentive to do quickplay here. Quickplay in this game is literally just an interactive training dummy. Once you get the hang of your class there really is no reason to do it. EXCEPT if you want to buy the chests that have the mats to reforge gear you need to do quickplay. So new players don't get screwed over once vets have moved past that. Therefore keeping the loop healthy. 7. Because of the worst thing happening if you don't time is getting less rating and still keeping all the loot you get less leavers and people are more willing to finish a dungeon unlike mythic plus where a group would just disband with people angry. Here it's so far been far more chill. All that being said I want to be objective and not just glaze the whole post and list out some cons: 1. There is no way to queue for a specific dungeon if you're not a premade four stack. I feel like there needs to be a way to queue for specific dungeons and levels you'd like without having to be in a four stack. Someone once joked that having friends is a competitve advantage and it really does show here. If you're playing solo like me (unless you're playing a tank or healer and get instant queues) you get thrown into queue based off of your item level and your dungeon rating. But sometimes especially if you're a the point that you're ready to tackle the capstone that dungeon doesn't show up on the list of 3 RNG'd dungeons that people can vote on. So then you're at the mercy of the system to hopefully get the capstone and hope that you can complete it in time. Perhaps the devs did it this way to not split the population too hard for the sake of queue times but if players feel like their progression is being cucked by RNG then it can be a turn off for them. Something for the devs to consider. Either allow us to select specific dungeons to queue or give us a looking for group tool. I'd rather the former over the latter since this game is literally designed to fix the problems the WoW group finder tool has. This is probably my biggest gripe with the game thus far. 2. Make reporting mean something. I'm not sure if it does or doesn't at the moment. For all I know it's an automated system and nothing happens but I want to see people who leave on first pull like in mythic plus actually get some sort of penalty. Tanks because they can get fast queue times will sometimes do that even in this game. And I don't want it to make the players bitter and turn away from the game. 3. There is no incentive to roll non dps roles outside of avoiding long queue times. This isn't necessarily a huge issue but it can only help dps queue times offering incentives like WoW's call to arms or in Overwatch there were incentives put in place to push more players to tank or heal which will only help smooth things out for those who are experiencing longer than ideal queue times (myself included at times in the day). Maybe a bit more gold or supplies as a reward? (rewards are account bound) 4. There is not a huge dispersion of players in multiple ranks which offsets queue times for specific ranks. Or so it feels. Contender queue times were actually pretty nice. Rarely more than five minutes long at most. Once hitting adept it feels like people are either past adept or not in adept yet. Therefore the queue times can be pretty gross especially during specific times of the day. I've seen times as long as 25 minutes. However the game just came out, it's in early access so I'm giving grace that will sort itself out. 5. Honestly what is left of my complaints are more just nit picky things that I'm sure are in place due to early access. Like not being able to drag and drop spells and other quality of life things. Or cheaper visuals. Overall to wrap up my thoughts. I think this game is amazing and has huge potential. I usually take a long time to decide if I want to buy a game since money is tight but with this I had no hesitation. I want this game to do well. While there are some pretty hefty cons that should be taken seriously I'm sure the devs are working to sort those out as soon as possible since they were pretty quick to nip the server issues in the bud. Quicker than Blizzard would have on launch day for sure. I want this game to do well and create a new staple of gaming genre and pioneer it's way into the gaming industry. That being said, I do not regret my $25 I spent. Even if the longevity isn't there I had my fair share of fun that has made the amount of time I have played well worth the money. The more people that support the game the more likely we'll see that longevity we all want. Best dungeon crawler I've played yet. I'd rate it an 8/10 and hope it only goes up from here :)
