Seriously underrated fast paced action run and gun rogue-like game. As soon as I learned and mastered how this game goes and what's it all about, I had a lot of long and intense runs with this game. I just couldn't help but feel a great rush of adrenaline. How fast I am dashing, how fast I'm shooting and swinging with my melee weapon, and how much chaos and destruction is happening as I play. Plus the many many MANY power ups and weapons you can experiment with in each different playthrough. This game also has some great replayability. Even if you manage to make it to the end and beat it, you still got a lot more you can do, and all of these different power ups and weapons, and constantly changing stages and enemies makes it so that every run is different from the last. I know this is the same for other rogue-likes, but I think Fury Unleashed is a perfect example of an excellent rogue-like. If you haven't tried out this game yet, what the hell are you doing? This game is absurdly, generously, cheap, and I can promise you that it will be worth every last penny and every last hour you spend playing this game. This game is so good, I ain't kidding, I literally bought it TWICE! One on GOG (I even completed the game there), and the other here on steam. It's just THAT GOOD! I never bought a game twice, let alone in one platform (PC), so that says a lot!

After playing for only a short time so far, I'm already enjoying this game a lot. You explore the pages of a living comic book, collecting ink as you go which is dropped by the enemies you kill. The game includes, randomly generated levels, skills to unlock which will help you to survive for longer, combo system and even customise your appearance. If you enjoy boss fights, the game has a total of 40 :D Great soundtrack, varied enemies and it can also be played co-op. The controls are perfect, smooth and precise, jumping, using ranged weapons or melee combat, it's quick and responsive. I can see me putting a lot of time in to this game :D

I play mostly on steam deck, so my game time above is most likely bugged. I have maybe 3 or 4 hours in game at present. I'm rather surprised because according to some of these achievements, hardly anybody actually plays this game beyond maybe trying out the first few minutes. I'm not sure I get that... this is a really fun game! It's not a super complex game... but I find it really fun. It's a roguelite for sure. You get ability points from every run and you spend those on permanent upgrades, like more health or increased kill streak cooldowns, etc. The combat is fast, fluid, and really well tuned for a gamepad. The game takes place in a series of interconnected rooms, which should be familiar to most fans of the roguelite or roguelike genre. When you beat the boss of one comic book, you move on to the next comic book which is a different theme, biome, new enemies, etc. But the cool thing is if you beat all of the bosses of a comic book, which I believe is three (obviously requires you play enough to get them and then beat them)... then you can start your next run on the next comic book instead of having to start at the beginning. Pretty cool. Tons of upgrades to unlock, various guns and grenades, upgraded melee weapons... definitely plenty to play around with. The music and graphics in this game are superb. Really elevates the experience. I have so much fun just running around blasting and hacking away at stuff. The game also plays out as a series of comic books which I found really cool. A ton of passion went into this! There is a lot of creativity on display with how the comic artwork intertwines with the game. There's also a ton of customizability for the look of your character, if that matters to you. I mean yeah, it's not a very complex game... it's pretty much shoot and hack and move on until you die. There isn't any over arching narrative. But it does the simple stuff very well, and I think the level of polish here is worth pointing out. I actually quite have fun with this game, and I definitely recommend to people to at least try it out if you enjoy roguelite gameplay.
