Another fun budget retro style point-and-clicky adventure produced by Wadget Eye. The soundtrack is amazing, but then again... so are all of Nathan Allen Pinard's. The game itself isn't too hard (the occasional pixel search) and reminds me of 'Beneath a Steel Sky'. I think the creator mentioned somewhere in one of the commentaries that he used Blade Runner as an insipration for the game's setting, though I don't get any BR vibes out of it. Technobabylon gave those vibes, but that's a different game from a different author.

5/10 Difficulty: Hard Puzzles: built to confuse. no chance for me w/o a walkthrough Shooting: difficulty/fun level: medium Story: enjoyable yet I feel a bit confused Vibe: very Beneath a Steel Sky-esque Rooms look a lot alike, color palette is grey/olive with not a lot of contrast happening Game mechanics are a bit overly complicated but ok Animations are ok, sprites are kinda small though, scrolling leads to very jerky movement End is short but ok Won't replay

Rating: 9/10 !!! It lacks one point due a bit miscalculation between the verbs, the logic and the items in the game. The game is fantastic overall!! I played this game for a few years ago. Then I forgot if I have played the whole gameplay, so I started playing again a few days ago. It seems that I started remembering things in the final scene while the main character got his memories erased for the last time. It is as if my memories were wiped by Center 7, and then I got them back in the end of the game, haha! What a paradox!

Great point and click adventure game, a gritty noir science fiction in a similar tone to the original Blade Runner movie. Challenging puzzles in places, not overly obscure solutions most of the time but not obvious in a way that will leave you feeling like there was no point in it being there at all. Overall I found it very satisfying, the puzzles don't interfere with the story, the story is compelling enough to get you through any of the puzzles that might take you a bit of messing about with.

It's good, but not as great as I thought it would be. This is an earlier Wadjet Eye game and they've come a long way since then. I loved Unavowed. It absolutely deserves all the praise its received. This game is considered among their best. Having finally played it and just finished it, I could see it being great at the time, but superior efforts make it feel a bit amateurish for lack of a better term. The voice acting is decent. Delta Six's voice actor sounded so wooden for the entire game. The Director had some weakly delivered lines. There's also these awkward pauses between characters engaged in dialogue. The writing is quite good. There's some good worldbuilding to make the setting feel real and lived in. The narrative is very well constructed with a cleverly devised twist. I unfortunately saw it coming way too early, so it didn't surprise me. The clues were there, but they were a little too obvious. I won't spoil this decade old game, but if you play it, play it for the story. The rest of the game is rough. I found the handling of its existential themes a bit heavy handed and expressed through some clunky dialogue near the end of the game. The soundtrack is quite good. It's very atmospheric and sets that somber future noir tone nicely. The animations are limited. There's no running making some cutscenes look silly. Graphics are average to above average. Some areas are very detailed while others just blend together. The two apartment complexes look exactly the same with every room looking the same. There's not much character sprite diversity. Portraits are simple with no variance in facial expression. There's not much "adventure" considering 90% of the game is in two locations with frequent backtracking. Puzzles are simple, but made needlessly complicated by pixel hunting for barely obvious objects in the environment. I had to consult a walkthrough repeatedly to find the hidden in plain sight items/prompts I needed to click. The combat is just bad. It takes no skill. It's never any more challenging as the first time you do it. It would just be a better game without it. You don't need to aim. Ammo management is irrelevant. It just feels so unnecessary. The character swapping mechanic is cool, but it's only in one section of the game and the game is very short. I like the game. It's good, but not the masterpiece I've seen it described as.
