Short and really funny. No talk only a mission. Nice style and nice riddles to solve. The overall game is pretty fun and nicely short. I can really highly recommend it.

Gomo is a surreal point-and-click adventure developed by Fishcow Studio and published by Daedalic Entertainment, released on PC in December 2013. The game draws inspiration from classic indie adventure titles that emphasize visual storytelling and puzzle solving over dialogue-heavy narratives. Presented almost entirely without words, the experience unfolds through expressive animations, environmental cues, and playful visual humor. Its design aims to create a whimsical and slightly absurd journey that relies on curiosity and experimentation rather than complex storytelling or traditional action gameplay. The story is deliberately simple and almost fairy-tale-like in its structure. The protagonist, a strange but endearing creature named Gomo, lives peacefully in a quiet valley alongside his beloved dog, Dingo. One day, this peaceful life is interrupted when an alien abducts the dog and demands a mysterious crystal as ransom. With no other option available, Gomo sets out on a strange journey to retrieve the artifact and rescue his companion. The plot itself remains minimal throughout the game, but its charm lies in the way events unfold visually rather than through spoken dialogue. Characters communicate with gestures, symbols, and expressive animations, creating a storytelling style reminiscent of silent films or visual comics. Gameplay follows the classic point-and-click adventure structure. Players guide Gomo through a series of illustrated 2D environments, interacting with objects, collecting items, and solving puzzles in order to progress to the next area. Each scene functions almost like a small puzzle box, where players must determine how the different objects within the environment interact with each other. Many puzzles involve combining items, pulling levers, activating mechanisms, or discovering hidden paths that allow Gomo to move forward. Unlike many older adventure games, most puzzles are confined to a single screen, meaning players rarely need to backtrack across large areas in search of solutions. This streamlined design keeps the pacing moving and makes the game accessible even for newcomers to the genre. One of the most distinctive elements of Gomo is its visual presentation. The game features hand-drawn environments that give each location a storybook quality. The art style blends whimsical cartoon elements with slightly surreal imagery, creating a world that feels both strange and playful. Backgrounds often contain small animated details that add personality to the environment, such as creatures moving in the distance or mechanical structures operating in unexpected ways. Gomo himself is animated with exaggerated motions—his long arms stretch dramatically and his awkward movements convey emotion without the need for dialogue. These small touches help give the character a surprising amount of personality despite his silent nature. The audio design further reinforces the game’s whimsical tone. Instead of spoken dialogue, the game relies on expressive sound effects and a lively musical score to carry the emotional atmosphere. Each area is accompanied by its own unique music track, helping create a sense of progression and giving each environment its own mood. The soundtrack shifts between playful melodies and more atmospheric tones depending on the situation, adding depth to scenes that might otherwise feel quiet or empty. Combined with the stylized visuals, the music plays an important role in making the world feel lively and memorable. While Gomo succeeds in creating a charming and visually distinctive adventure, it has often been criticized for its simplicity. The puzzles tend to be extremely straightforward, often requiring only basic observation and experimentation to solve. For experienced players of the genre, many challenges may feel almost trivial, with solutions becoming obvious after only a short period of exploration. The game also has a relatively short runtime, with most players able to complete the entire adventure in roughly one to two hours. Because of this limited length and the lack of complex puzzle design, some players may feel that the experience ends just as it begins to build momentum. Another limitation lies in the story itself, which remains fairly simple from beginning to end. Although the premise is charming, the narrative does not expand much beyond the initial goal of retrieving the crystal and rescuing the dog. The game introduces several unusual environments and humorous moments along the way, but it rarely develops deeper themes or character arcs. As a result, the overall journey can feel somewhat lightweight compared to other narrative-focused adventure games. Nevertheless, the simplicity also allows the game to maintain a relaxed and accessible tone that may appeal to younger players or those looking for a short, casual experience. Despite these shortcomings, Gomo still manages to leave a positive impression thanks to its artistic charm and quirky sense of humor. The strange situations Gomo encounters, the playful animations scattered throughout the environments, and the dreamlike quality of the world all contribute to a distinctive identity. Even when the puzzles are simple, the creative visuals and amusing character interactions keep the adventure entertaining while it lasts. The game feels less like a traditional puzzle challenge and more like an interactive animated story filled with odd little moments waiting to be discovered. In the end, Gomo stands as a small but memorable indie adventure that prioritizes charm and visual creativity over complexity. Its whimsical art style, silent storytelling, and accessible gameplay make it an inviting entry point for players who enjoy relaxed puzzle adventures. However, the short length and limited challenge may leave seasoned adventure fans wanting something deeper. For those willing to embrace its simplicity, the game offers a brief but imaginative journey through a strange and delightful world. Rating: 7/10

Fun little game. Very short, but that's good. On sale this is great. It doesn't have achievements, but if it did it would just be story related anyway since there's not much to do other than progress the game. The 'puzzles' are easy as long as you have eyes. 6/10

A short but charming point and click adventure, this game is cute, funny, and definitely worth playing at least once. The puzzles aren’t too difficult overall, though a few require a bit more attention and creative thinking. The artwork is simple yet very pretty, with surprising detail especially in the little things happening in the background. The music and sound effects are also well done, perfectly matching the game’s lighthearted atmosphere.

Not really a puzzle game... but 100% point and click. There were 3 maybe 4 tried and tested super easy puzzles but the dozen or so other screens were a case of click everywhere until you hit upon the next random bit of illogical randomness. The plot and direction was equally as random. The graphic style was entertaining enough... but Machinarium it ain't. Not one for seasoned puzzle fans. Mildly funny in places (like "Sensible Chuckle" funny) but honestly I feel I only finished it out of spite. I got it on sale so I can't complain, but I wouldn't recommend paying full whack.
