A Continuation of legendary trilogy Gothic 3 is the sequel to the cult series of the Gothic series. And to be honest in many game aspects this title worse then previous parts of games. And today I would like to share my opinion on this game, what I like, and what dislike and give a rating to this game. So let's begin. Story line I will began my analyses if this game, with a little bit talk about plot in this game. This story is subsistence to Gothic 2 game. And it began with returning our Hero from Irdorath. But after a death a servants of Beliar, there are a new trial for us because Xardas absorb power of undead Dragon, and began to realise his own ambitions. He unites with Orcs and help them by deactivating magic runes. Myrtana has fallen and now occupied by Orcs. And from this point our journey begun, and this game has a three different endings, so you can actually choose your fate in this game, you have a 3 endings, and your actions have a dramatic impact on the game. So overall Story is pretty goated part of this game, and I will rate it a 9 out of 10 9/10 Gameplay To be honest gameplay on this game is disappointing me pretty much, because everything has become slower and more laggy. The buttons get stuck very often. But I will talk about it in more detail. Combat system I will began with combat, to be fair, I never seen such bad combat. It's looks so stupid, these idiotic swings at thin air the enemies are jump back away from them. And it's overall feel more downgraded, compare to previous games, because gothic one and two had their own unique combat with various strikes, combos, and backsteps, but in this game everything simplified to left click spam. Maybe in range weapon everything is better, but I'm as a melee player dissatisfied with how they ruin melee combat and make it simple boring and unenjoyable. Stupid Stamina mechanic I just don't get why they added this ridiculous stamina mechanic—as if hand-to-hand combat wasn't already terrible enough, and now they've introduced a new energy mechanic that drains your energy with every hit, and because of low energy, your hits get weaker, and on top of that, with low stamina, you can’t properly defend yourself with shield against archers who spam arrows, which makes any battle simply unbearable due to the sheer volume of spam from ranged enemies. This mechanic is just make combat even worst, and more slow and dull. The hero's stats progression is weak Progression on this game is just don't feel like you progressing at all in your character levelling. I max 400 strength but I can't one-shot anybody in this game. Its like what even purpose of mastering the strength if it doesn't make you stronger. For melee warrior this game have worthless system of progression. Siege of City's mechanic Well this game has not only bad mechanic, the thing which I like this game is assaulting the city conquered by Orcs, and when you basically fighting a war, with huge amounts of waves a enemy's even idiotic combat is not as noticeable. And it is really cool and cutting-edge gameplay feature Reputation system It's very interesting idea of reputation among factions. This is a very interesting idea regarding reputation among factions, but it’s actually not fully developed. Overall, it doesn’t really add many unique features—just access to the mayor or a faction leader so you can talk to them. All in all, it could have been implemented better, not like this. I think overall gameplay in this game is 5/10 there are some good features and bad ones 5/10 Worldbuilding I will be very briefly on this topic because map on this game huge but empty, in the previous Gothic games, they make a few of cities, but all well-developed. But in this game they were trying to turn quality into quantity, and it's not work, because majority if the cities is just empty places. Only two city in Hashishim are well-developed all other are ♥♥♥♥. And majority of quests are boring and repetitive. 4/10 Music Music in this game is just masterpiece. Some of them, are deployed in my playlist. 9/10 Bugs and Lags And now I will talk about worst aspect of this game, there are so many bugs on this game. Its pretty common thing to happen like, someone stuck in the wall, it can be you or your enemy. You can stuck in some random environment, in bunch of crap, some random stones, or another objects, and over time, you get used to it. This game is crushing, at least I count a three time when it crush. It's just terrible from technical part. Conclusion Overall this game is pretty mid, inferior to previous gothic games. But still there was some cool things in this game which you can enjoy. And I still recommend to play this game a Gothic fans, to see how a story of Nameless will end. 6/10

Even thou it's disliked by many Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 fans, I still consider Gothic 3 as one of the best rpg games of all time. With little bit of tinkering with patches (Installing Community Patch 1.75 and Paraller Universe Patch 1.1.1.) this game becomes smooth and playable, despite being mess on release back in 2006. World is couple of times larger than its predecesors G1 and G2, it's beautiful to explore and find it's secrets, music is top notch, it's Kai Rozenkranz in the end. Story is not so strong like it used to be previously, but if you ignore it sligthly, you can enjoy and find interesting bits. I highly recommend Gothic 3 and I give it 8/10 after patching it properly!

Only recommended with the following mods: CPT patch (ofc) quest packet mod content mod parallel universe mod lively towns mod consequences mod I also recommend the additional mods but they're not needed, just improves world aesthetic imho: Rebuilt armor and weapons mod alternate world mod I also recommend changing the in-game font from comic sans to gothic3 font.

If I had the chance to choose one old game out of all existing ones to get a remake, without any hesitation I would choose Gothic 3. I genuinely dream of a remake of this game. I am ready to buy the remake of the first part when it comes out, and the second one as well, if it ever happens, just to support it. This universe and this game stayed with me and left a deep mark on me
