Amid all the seemed dislike about this game and it's many technical flaws, I will be listing 10 of the things i liked most about this game which should shine some light on what this game could be: 1. Cool story revealing cutscene 2. You can strangle a Willie (not to death, unfortunately) 3. New weapons (flail, my goat) 4. Armor customizability 5. Weapon forging 6. ball kicking 7. Zombies???? 8. Mercenaries 9. stupid overpowered stick of wrath (quarterstaff I think) 10. hair This game is a good game, it's just going though some early game issues.

TLDR & Buyer Beware: This is an extremely fun physics-based fighting game. Players with lower-end systems should try the demo and continue to await performance updates — as this continues to be a great experience with a ladder mode I wish was available in the Early Access. Avoid the Slums map at all costs. Turn on DX12. Early access is in desperate need of a tutorial to explain new/hidden mechanics. As this is early access, I will of course update as the game is updated. This is my first review and it only felt warranted because of the experience I've had with this game over the launch weekend. For reference, I've played the demo for over 72 hours and as of writing this, 23.1 hours on the early access release. I was an on-release purchaser and launched as soon as it was installed. This game could not run the Yards map from the demo above 20 fps on low settings with a 5090, 9800X3D, and 64GB of RAM. The devs released a hotfix just a couple of hours after launch and I was able to play, but did not enjoy my experience. The UI was difficult to understand and unintuitive and the ladder mode I had grown to love from the demo was nowhere to be seen. Physics felt tuned differently, but more responsive to what I wanted to do. And this game still had severe FPS issues on the Slums map. I turned it off unsure. That evening I read about several hidden mechanics including the strength leveling system and its affect on combat, looting enemies, and the abyss's killing mechanic. The EA was starting to sound a lot more interesting. I was hooked on it the next morning. The progression mode made a lot more sense given the context provided by the hidden mechanics and I've now beaten the Baron twice. If you are a player who enjoys messing around with physics-based games, I think this should bare minimum be on your wishlist to watch from afar as updates roll out. This game bounces between hilarious and badass so quickly that I've lost a majority of my weekend to it. The devs have provided an unexpectedly swift response to improving this game's performance and it seems to be a worthy update to the demo I've played for a long time now. Players on lower-end systems should consider avoiding it for the time being. I don't have a good frame of reference for general player performance, so I empathize the others who still have to continue awaiting updates for the game to be playable. The devs and my own experience have given me enough confidence to post a positive review now that I feel I've given the EA release a fair shot. It's very rough around the edges and needs several rounds of performance passes, but what is here is undeniably a refinement of the demo and it's left me excited for what's to come.

Performance issues fixed after selecting dx12. Love the demo and the game seems to be on the right direction. Just hoped the hub was a in game thing. Keep the good work guys!

The game is good and very fun but runs pretty terribly at the lowest settings i can hardly get 50 fps while fighting in the slums with a RTX 4070 SUPER, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and 32 GB of DDR5. IMO, wait for a performance patch
