Game is pure carnage. If you want a straight up medieval battle simulator then come on down. Within minutes you can be hip-deep in hot guts. Campaign honestly I abandoned as it was confusing and fairly lame from what I saw of it. Although, could just be me. But you don't need campaign, there's everything else! Quick battle, custom battle... pick your weapons. Horse riding... archery and the real sense that you are in a large scale battle. Very little room for finesse and "proper" swordsmanship when you are literally crammed in with hundreds of other bodies. Keep your wits about you, bludgeon the guy next to you, and the guy next to him. Fall back only to be bludgeoned yourself. Rise and repeat. Superb. Those rare occasions you end up 1 v 1 its fun to have a proper test of skill and reactions, but more often than not a stray arrow takes either one of you in the eye. Good times. The game does benefit from a good PC as its pretty intense and I find the fun is in the big numbers, although you can scale it down a bit if your machine can't handle it. All in, a ruddy good time, with my longest battle yet lasting 2.5hrs! I was genuinely exhausted after it! Brutal.
Mount and Blade Bannerlords in VR, with as much yank as you would expect from a Bannerlord game. Great fun and great playability. A must own if you are into Bannerlord or just want to crush enemies in medieval fights. While it can be jiggle sticked, what every VR user dislikes, you can also play this lime a real fighting game. Swinging an axe in each hand, sprinting and jumping onto an enemy with both axes hitting, then kicking the next enemy into headbutting another, letting go of the axes, stuck in the one man's body, trying to wrangle the spear out of the hand of another assailant, slapping him with my right hand and then using his very own spear against him, is just marvelous. Or guarding a doorway against a dozen soldiers. It never gets old. Says me, the pacifist, thinking about the other army to be Pete Hegseth's or Benjamin Netanjahu's or Vladimir Putin's. Death to the King's, and off I go, raising an army and laying siege to the enemies of freedom. Let's make my realm great again.
Sucks this game is most likely never getting another update because it truly was the peak of a vr game. I feel that some things could be better like the realism of the fighting and accuracy to the time period. Optimization is great and if you want a large battle you can have one. Overall exactly what I expected.
