The only thing infinite about this game is the micro-transactions. But, it's still Halo regardless, and it's fun with friends if you're bored. 69/100

I really like this game. It's one of the few games I play. I like it better than Call of Duty because it doesn't have all the attachments with the loadouts. I feel like it's all a head ache and very time consuming. To me, Halo Infinite is simple with the focus on having fun. A little bit of playing with the appearance of your character is cool too. I didn't like all the crazy characters they were adding on Call of Duty either. It seems like it will not last much longer and it really makes me sad. I'm really going to miss it. Lets just say that these past couple years have not been the best for me. Halo Infinite was there to keep me company and I am grateful and sad. There are other franchises that lasted longer. Even if Halo 7 comes out, I don't think it will ever be the same. But Big Thanks to the game and the developers.

I bought this game solely for the campaign, thinking that a game called "Infinite" would surely have add-ons and continue the story after the initial launch. Nope. It's a good campaign, and I think they were successful at incorporating an open world into the halo universe! I'm disappointed though, as someone who grew up playing Halo and loving the story, to see the campaign and the story (the meat and bones of the Halo games) taking a backseat to multiplayer modes that are essentially reskins of the last released halo games' multiplayer modes. 6/10

I've enjoyed the campaign. This one is much better than 5. Compaired to 4 its better in some ways and worse in others. I think the open world kinda breaks Halo at it's core because there are some many ways to attack enemys that it the desisgners can't build against most of them and you very easily get big advantages against npcs. It also breaks the designer's ability to control the pacing of the game which removes those awe inspiring quiet moments that help make Halo so good. To be clear you can still find them but you have to search them out. The pacing also breaks because it puts human and enemy outposts so close together that its non sensical. its a short walk between enemy held locations. Having said all this it does feel like Halo or an acceptable evolution of it. Whereas 5 and a bit 4 were trying too hard and falling into the creative and economic trap of trying to stand out with flashyness and gimmics rather than quality. Also I miss the spartan laser. I've enjoyed it.

Halo Infinite... Where do I even start? The potential for Halo Infinite was very, very high. Infinite had the most refined movement, and shooting in the Halo franchise. The stage was set for a fantastic modernized Halo experience. But somehow they fumbled the bag. Lets start with content offering as of now. Multiplayer has a wide selection of maps and modes such as multiple ranked play modes, core Halo staples such as slayer, and big team battle, & custom gamemodes made in forge like firefight, arcade gamemodes, and many many more. Sounds like a good time, but it was too little too late. Unfortunately a large amount listed here was completely missing from the game at launch, and said modes listed above weren't added in until over a year later. This is the core of the issue. The experience was LEAN at launch, and with the multiplayer incorporating a free to play model that made core Halo fans upset. Combined with the lack of meaningful updates out the gate, and the poor implementation of microtransactions left the playerbase to just fade away over time. Basically the devs updated the game to where it should've been at launch, and left the product to wither and die. If it launched like how it is now, it would've been a truly fantastic experience. A true revival of the Halo multiplayer experience. The funny thing is that I do believe the gameplay was THAT good. It was smooth, polished, and easy to pick up. Nothing solidified this more for me than playing the story mode. The sandbox style suits the Halo series well. If you think back on it, the best levels of the OG Halo series was the large vehicle levels. Combine that with the fun Halo sandbox in an open world Halo ring to mess around on. Sounds great, sign me up! How could you ever mess that up? Boom! The Halo infinite story mode. One big level with zero diversity of environments, ubisoft style open world design, and a frankly boring and sequel baiting story that doesn't hit the high notes of any Halo game before it. And you've got Halo infinite's story mode in a nutshell. Is it worth playing? I mean it might just be the most mid Halo experience I've ever had. I would've much preferred a complete sensible main plot, and a diverse set of interesting environments over the 2 environments you get here. Forest, and forrunner interiors. Such a disappointment because if you look at the trailers they literally showed off snow, forest, desert, and alien environments. Not to mention the missing weapons, and vehicles from earlier games. Would I recommend Halo Infinite? God if this wasn't the hardest 6/10 game I've played, I don't know what is. Which is a DAMN SHAME! The core of this experience is so ripe for something amazing, and I wanted to love this SO MUCH. But this ain't it chief.
