If I could give a neutral rating, I think I would. I like puzzles; this is a puzzle game. I don't mind reading lots of text; this game has lots of text. I like mythology and history; this game has lots of both. But this game is unrewardingly obscure in places. I finally gave in and followed a walkthrough. There were lots of steps that were "yes, that's obvious" but also quite a few steps that were "How did you get that instead of a dozen other equally plausible things?" Toward the end of the game, you need to use a couple of book publishing dates. It's not obvious that this is a point in the game where dates will be useful. It's not obvious that out of all the dates in all the text, it's book publishing dates that are needed. And even given that, it's a two- or three-step deduction to figure out these two particular books are the ones of interest. And a few trial-and-error puzzles, the archers in particular, which just drove me mad. Even with a clue about targets and with an observation about archer order, it took me well over 10 minutes to painstakingly position all four archers so they actually hit their targets. It was frankly a relief to be presented with a complex Eulerian Circuit puzzle to solve, TL;DR; This is a challenging puzzle game which will either require a lot of time and experimentation or a lot of hints.

it's a unique little pnc. The English script is ROUGH, which doesn't help with the many riddles thrown in throughout the game. That said, the hint system is pretty generous and gives you a strong push in the right direction, so it kind of balances out. Only recommend for people that really like pnc's.

If you never played games with a lot of riddles before, maybe start with another one and if you don't like them at all, don't even blink in this direction. I personally enjoyed it very much - finally my dusty brain cells had to do some work and not just connect the dots on standby. The raven is a lovely detail for hints and if you're stuck, do yourself a favor and feed it. In the beginning I didn't get, that I could turn around, so yeah... that. Glad my feathery friend could explane to me, that the nicely drawn room had a backside. Than please don't be put off by all the text: You don't actually need to read it, if you don't want to. Just click on the glowing pages and read the summary in your notebook - that will offer you all the information you need to finish the game. (I saw that some people got frustrated by that, so I wanted to mention it) I had a really fun evening with this one: Good artwork, creative riddles and a nice story, while also not being too long. It even made me laugh in the end, since no, I really didn't got the "broken flute" reference before. ...than again, what was that about jokes, one needs to explain...? Anyway, there were some minor annoyances, like the arrows pointing to the next page being too close to the inventory, but nothing dramatic. All in all, a solid game that I can recommend to anyone who enjoys puzzles and already has some experience with them.

I always struggle with games like this and I think a lot of games in this genre struggle with finding a balance between reasonably challenging and just downright stupid. This game on the other hand, found that balance. Would definitely recommend it. Perfect level of difficulty and I enjoyed learning about the history and different calendar systems especially. Very well done to the devs and everyone involved.

Havsala is a colorful point-and-click puzzler with some interesting historical references, classic art, and a bit of mysticism (tarot, astrology, etc.). The entire game takes place in a single room with straightforward puzzles and a raven to give you hints, as needed. The game auto-saves on exit but I do not believe partial progress on a puzzle is saved. Completionists will need to play through twice, as some achievements are mutually exclusive. If you are thorough your first time through, the second pass should go quite quickly. Havsala is a nice way to relax in a peaceful, stress-free environment with just about the right level of challenge to keep you interested.
