This game is great, amazing fun with friends, my only feedback for the developers is that the scoring system currently encourages selfies a little too heavily. It kind of sucks to set up an amazing shot of soldiers fighting alien monstrosities that looks like it could be a real front page shot, only to be beaten out by your mate dancing in front of an out of focus monster. Selfies are fun, but I think that the score for them should be lowered, and the score for taking photos of OTHER journalists increased. in general the scoring system maybe should take into account more whether a monster is central to the picture, or on the side, because right now shots where you can't really see anything can have the max score just because they have tiny slithers of many different monsters in the shot. I'd also love it if more camera controls were included, a pro camera that allows you to adjust focus would be really fun, or even the ability to add filters on the fly would be cool. All-in-all, great game, I can't wait for the updates.

"The Headliners" VS "Content Warning" Headliners definitely has a lot better premise and setting. It's not just a generic, spooky, creepypasta, lovecraftian plane where you goof off over and over again. It's a lot more comparable to something like Cloverfield or Gantz. It's in a very urban, big-city environment with friendly civilians and military running around, and that really sets it apart from something like Content Warning or Lethal Company. However, The Headliners really needs video recording (or at least a few seconds of audio attached to each picture?) in order to pull ahead of Content Warning. There's only so much fun that you can pull out of "Oooo, look at this picture of you in front of a monster! Lol" over and over and over again. The videos that I've saved from playing Content Warning with a buddy are some of the most treasured and memorable moments I have on MP4. The pics from Headliners?... I forget about them completely ten seconds after I see them. It's a really good game, but it has the potential to completely stomp Content Warning and Lethal Company in 2025 if they choose their next updates very carefully. 7.5/10 for me.

I have played a lot of co-op games. This one scratched an itch I've haven't been able to scratch for a while. Imagine me walking through Times Square, boots on the ground, first responder to the impending invasion. Me and my buddy are grabbing photos of the action. > Soldiers are fighting monsters > Civilians are being picked off the streets. > Carnage everywhere you look! > Suddenly, Kaiju level alien comes in and wipes out everyone and everything in it's path. I'm taking pictures and dodging debris, grabbing the "money shot". Suddenly an entire bus comes flying into my friend, blood and guts litter the streets, his limbs scattered everywhere. So what do I do in my moment of panic? I take a selfie with his corpse and made a run for it to the helicopter. Highly recommend this game!!

Great concept, but needs more interiors, maps and monsters. For now 2.5 hours of fun, then gets old.

I don't tend to leave reviews after a few hours, but given that the game is cheap and has a 20% release discount, I will say I'm already getting that price worth of fun with what it offers. Hopefully it gets long term support because there's a lot of potential. The premise is pretty simple: Aliens invade, and as a reporter from New York, you go out there and try to get photos without dying. Basically Cloverfield: The Game. You arrive outside in a chopper and make your way to buildings. (enterable buildings are marked with green doors) While the outside is always the same, the insides are randomized. They're not procedurally-generated like in Lethal Company, but the same door will lead you to a TV station one time and a mall another time. And while the rooms are the same, I did notice clutter and furniture being different even in the same interiors. While hunting for photos, you'll come across fleeing civilians, military, and most obvious of all: strange alien creatures. All of them are worth various amount of points, and your goal is to have enough after 3 runs to go to the next level. (kinda like a quota in Lethal Company) When you complete a quota, you get money to buy gear upgrades (unfortunately not much money, meaning few players get to play with new toys) and go to the next location, more dangerous. The photo taking is pretty good. It's gonna have some quirks which you'll expect if you've played any game that asks you to take photos of stuff, but it's behaved pretty well for me so far. Just try not to take photos behind too much clutter if you can. I've only played solo so far, and I'm having more trouble than the groups I've been watching play the game. That being said, it's still really fun and I like the challenge. (I've only reached the second location/quota as I'm writing this) It's definitely balanced for a group currently, there's no bonuses for single player as far as I can tell. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong.
