A little less absurd and more serious than NUKITASHI. It's silly and fun at times, but the grand route had its phenomenal character moments. Don't let the title Hentai Prison filter you from reading this great visual novel!

Ah, Hentai Prison. One of the easiest, undeniable 10/10s I've ever given... and while it's quite hard to write a review for this wonderful game, I'll try. HenPri may look like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, 2 hour Nukige from its store page... but it was far beyond anything I could have imagined from a visual novel, nonetheless one about a sex offender who can talk to his own penis who is confined to a cruel prison. HenPri is undoubtedly one of the most emotional stories I have ever read, which Qruppo seems to be weirdly good at even though they make games that are most certainly not Nakige or anything close to it designed to fool their potential buyers. I didn't know at all what to expect coming from Nukitashi 1 and 2, which I enjoyed...But HenPri surpassed them both with ease. Immersive, compelling, and easy to absorb, HenPri does an incredible job of worldbuilding Tulip Prison and really putting you in our messiah Minato Shuichiro's shoes (which is the only thing he often wears) where you will know exactly what goes on in the prison day-to-day after only playing for a short time. Cool and entertaining, sure, but that isn't the best part about Hentai Prison. It's weirdly emotional, in the best way. HenPri is all about Shuichiro, who is barely something you can consider a true human by the time he is incarcerated. He is bullied, beaten, spat on, tortured, treated as a worm, brought to the lowest possible level...and yet, he learns and thrives. His quest to find a passion he enjoys more than streaking, showing his existence and penile friend to this world was not easy, but he endured. While I really don't have to words to convey this, but his growth as a human being, discovering all manners of emotion and wisdom in the darkest, cruelest of places is possibly the most beautiful things I have witnessed from any story. A true redemption tale, Shuichiro becomes a wonderfully relatable human who is full of excitement to learn and grow, and he certainly does. Perhaps the setting has something to do with it, but the joy I felt from seeing him maneuver his way through horrific trials, people and situations cannot be put into words. HenPri has 3 heroines, all of which who are terrifically well-developed and have interesting, amazing routes. It's better than Nukitashi in ever way, and benefits greatly from being a sequel. One thing Qruppo seems to like doing is making art pieces out of their games, and HenPri is the most artistic yet. Raising bold questions, like if a fetish can be taken as a form of self-expression, or how if media with pornographic content should be censored, or if it's so wrong to enjoy eroge... It's a fun time. Packed with interesting scenarios in an impossible setting, good, well written villains, A stunning OST, improved visuals from Nukitashi, funny and unique H scenes, a long, gripping story, HenPri is one of the best visual novels ever made. I will always remember the lessons I learned from this game, such as everything really does come full circle, and your actions and behavior towards others can aid you one day... I beg anyone to play this game even if you didn't read Nukitashi, because I feel as there is nothing else like it in this world.

A Love Letter to Eroges, and all who love them. If you like Eroges, whether serious or nukige, or anything in between, I would say this is a must play. There's a good reason this game got 2022 best Eroge in Japan, with many both likable and memorable hate-able characters, in both serious and (more often) non-serious story lines. You know the VN is good when the male characters and MILFs are likable. Also please watch at least The Shawshank Redemption before playing this, it references the movie a lot. You do not need to play Nukitashi although it adds a bit of fun to the story. Patch is a must and the scenes are non-skippable, some of them have fairly big plot points in them. Game Length is about 5-8h Common Route, same for each Heroine route x3, Grand route taking another 8ish hours, and another extra 5 hours for epilogue content, for a total of about 40 hours of content more or less, depending on if you play on auto or not. Anyways regarding the translation, I have already previously bought and played the JP version when it came out, and after finishing this release's EN translation, I would say they did a great job. I personally thought of this game as basically being untranslatable due to the constant and numorous language based jokes (and mainly how Himeru and other people mishear it) but I think they did mostly a good job on that front. I haven't noticed glaring flaws and while the translation takes liberties when its necessary to make jokes work, I think the majority stays true to the original text. I do have two criticisms though. One is that I think the original translators might have missed a few references to other media and didn't really try to do the translations properly there (yugioh part was a lot funnier in JP due to the creature name jokes, along with a few other minor jokes), and the fact that the game has numerous "non-text" quips voiced in the background which are very funny but is completely untranslated here due to no actual words showing up in the script. Outside of that, very well done. My personal route recommendation will be Chisato, Taeka, Noah, and finally Grand. I think Chisato's route is the weakest but its also probably the one that introduces the most mysteries without solving them. Noah + Grand route is what I personally feel is the meat of the game, and I think doing those last is the best for my personal preference.

Didn't expect this VN to be that good but it is. The "Alcatraz" prison setting is immersive with characters that are vividly portrayed. It starts off unsettling and the MC knows nothing about the world, but the storytelling and character development is worth it. If you like the art style and the prison setting you should definitely get this VN. What you will experience and enjoy: + Great setting and storytelling with good character development and an intriguing plot + Dark immersive setting (not like Euphoria kind) but also with plenty good comedy moments + Main characters are unique and well written (esp. Noah) with interesting side characters + Great art CGs (Kind of like Danganronpa) + Memorable BGMs + Noah’s voice Neutral stuff: - Linear plot but all the routes are great (yes, especially Noah) - Translation may not be fully accurate but still understandable Personal Opinion: Everyone saying Sofiya best girl but Noah just made me fall for her because of her gradually synchronized and trusted relationship with the MC and the Gap Moe. Also, I just want to hear her yap all day lol
