Pretty interesting detective "game", mostly watching videos out of order and piecing things together. After about 80% of the way through it started to get tedious but still worth it. The women who played the main character was quite good in her role, I was impressed. The story, acting and mystery were all very well done, although I assume most people wouldn't care too much for the way you play this game, sadly.
It's wonderful that you engage with Her Story using natural language. It means that your particular strategies for narrowing down search results will be unique to you, turning the game into a puzzle box with effectively infinite solutions. Your mileage on the game's underlying story may vary. Personally, I think Barlow has written better stories since this one, which strained credulity in ways that disappointed me. But regardless of how you feel about that underlying story, the method of engaging with the story was an important landmark in game design, and it's worth experiencing for yourself. (If you wanted a story with a bit more texture, the follow-up Telling Lies might be more your speed, very similar play mechanics with a significantly more grounded story)
Compelling mystery game where you have to basically find out what happened by looking through an old database of interviews. The story is very compelling and engaging. You don't only have to pay attention to what is being said, but also what is happening visually in the interview. It's nice that the game keeps track of which videos you have and have not seen, and that you can add your own tags to the videos. I do suggest keeping a notepad on hand to write down any information that stands out, and to note down any keywords you want to try searching with (so you can also easily cross off which words you've already tried). Minor detail that at the end it got a little tedious trying to find the last few video entries in order to have watched them all without 'cheating', but I just wanted them because I'm a completionist. Definitely recommend it if you like puzzling out a story/mystery.
