Good visual novel game. Talking with different girls throughout the story is an interesting experience and the endings are related to each girl, with a good and bad ending for each girl. The bad endings are sad to watch but the good endings can compensate for that sadness you may experience. The entire story is kind of an emotional roller coaster, especially ending the game with a true final ending after collecting every other ending in the game.

A game that i thought would be a simple dating sim ended up being a lot deeper than expected... It explores mortality and mental health very deeply and beautifully. It's portrayal of the struggles of the girls felt very realistic and well handled, even when going into riskier territory. The messaging was super sweet and hopeful. I think the writing, and the utterly gorgeous art, are the highlights of this game. The soundtrack is also really nice and fitting for the game, making different flavors is super fun, the different endings are all different and emotionally impactful. Only thing I'd really critique is that strangely enough the sprites aren't scaled correctly, making them blurry in the one-on-one discussion events. What makes that extra strange is that i swear there were a couple of times where they were properly scaled and the pixels were clear, but then went back to being slightly blurred? Oh well, it's disappointing because the art is so pretty, but again it's not something too terribly bothersome. Overall, wonderful game that easily became one of my favorites. Can't recommend Hookah Haze enough C:

I picked this up on sale for less than full price, and honestly? It was worth it. The game runs about 10 hours total—I unlocked every achievement in that time—but I did start to feel the repetition creeping in near the end. That said, Hookah Haze is a solid visual novel with more depth than I expected. It explores some raw and relatable struggles, especially the messy reality of being in your twenties—navigating heartbreak, identity, burnout, and yes, even coming to terms with death. It’s heavy at times, but grounded in emotional honesty. What really sold me, though? The art and music. That dreamy, vaporwave-kawaii aesthetic? Chef’s kiss. The soundtrack sets the mood perfectly, and the visuals are just… addictive. I could stare at the UI forever. Overall, if you’re into cozy chaos with a side of existential dread—and want something visually stunning—this one’s worth a shot.

- Is this in the same alley as VA-11 Hall-a? Yes, it's the same chill vibes. You'll have a good time. - Is it as good as VA-11 Hall-a? No, but few things are. While VA-11 Hall-a is a 9/10 or 10/10, this one is more a 7/10. - Why isn't it as good? The main flaw is that the game lacks content. Barely anything happen between the character entering the shop and the "midpoint" where they need a refill (changing the charcoal). There are 5 different flavors and each blend is a mix of 3 flavors, for 35 total combinations. And yet, each of the girls is massively into only 1 flavor with little to no variation. This makes you painfully aware of how much the game lacks content. Half of the possible combinations are useless, as in, making them will not give you the "max satisfaction" for any character, any day. The "customize your product" gameplay is even less engaging than with VA-11 Hall-a. -Conclusion I wouldn't say that the game is worth more than 15$, but the game is good and having you biggest flaw being "need more of it" is perhaps the best flaw for a game to have. I'll be watching what the devs are cooking next. If they can deliver something like that with the length to back up a heartfelt story, this will go from "VA-11 Hall-a's love letter" to "VA-11 Hall-a's proper successor".

Going to try to keep this review spoiler-free. Bought this one on an impulse since the concept reminded me of VA-11 HALL-A. Beautiful pixel art and a really cozy ambiance. The hookah mini game takes a background role in the game because the story is very good. I never cried so much with such a short game. Won't go in depth about the story but it's obviously made during the Menhera boom, all the girls have something they need help with and it feels like it sort of becomes an "I can fix her" game but then surprises you with a lovely (but heartbreaking) story about friendship
