I really love this game! The characters are all so interesting and have good backstories. I do have a few issues, though, mainly with the ending and the non-existent differences between which protagonist appearance you pick. Spoilers below. The ending is super predictable and on the same level as “dark” cartoon theories. The main character was in a coma, because of course they were. Magical stuff can’t REALLY exist, right? It just seems like a lazy way to wrap up what was an interesting murder mystery. The other issue I’ve found is that the dialogue doesn’t change when you pick a female protagonist over a male. Not a big deal, right… as long as one of the characters routes doesn’t have her NOT trusting men. Rei’s route was the first time I really actually noticed the issue. My character was female, and when Rei said she usually only liked girls, the protagonist thought “must not be into me then.” When the protagonist… was a girl. It just didn’t really work and kind of took me out of the route. Minor nitpick, but I also am getting so annoyed at how the arcade works. It’s super gambly, which makes sense since it’s an arcade, but when you’ve run out of gifts to give whichever girl you’re romancing that give more than 1 affection, it’s super annoying when their special arcade item just doesn’t show up. Especially since you can only give one gift a day, and after you give all the gifts the girl likes, they only give 1 affection from then on. Despite these issues, I actually really like the story and characters that are presented here. It’s not spectacular, sure, but it’s a solid story (up until the ending). I would recommend it for people who liked Doki Doki Literature Club or just visual novels/dating sims in general, since, even after the darker stuff starts to happen, you’re still able to actively engage with the romance.

The first time I played this, I torrented it without knowing anything about it except the name and some cute artwork. I thought it was just a random romance visual novel, so the horror twist came completely out of nowhere and genuinely captivated me. It’s a shame you can’t really have that experience anymore without running into spoilers on Steam, but I bought it anyway because I really liked it.

The characters are very stereotypical and shallow. Most of the time, the dialogues are cringe, to say the least. The constant humor based on teasing each other becomes tiresome after a while. Even though I struggled with most of the game, for some reason I liked it more than I should have. The graphics are very nice. The ending surprised me and was cool.
