A short but amazing indie title inspired by the likes of Contra and Metal Slug. But I must say, it is definitely better than them in every aspect. It's overall easier and more modern gamer friendly. The gameplay is pretty solid. The cyberpunk art design is top-notch and overall, it does a brilliant job at giving that retro vibe in every corner. Even the character lines are cheesy in a good way. Level designs are also great. The difficulty curve is too steep in the last area, I must say. But even though it's quite challenging, it's definitely not Katana Zero level maddening. And the final boss is made not to get beaten. I hate it but I had to get used to it overtime... Definitely a must play.

Just started playing this but i am so happy i did. This is a tough as nails crossover between Contra, Shinobi & Shadow Dancer. Blasting all enemies and trying to dodge weapons being fired at you. The pressing up to hide in a doorway and then shooting to kill your enemies feel great and it never feels unfair till now. Going to play this game a lot more is my idea about this. You can also play together in 2 player mode. The game looks fine, sound great and plays even better. If i would give this a rating then i would give this game (for what i have played) about 8 out of 10 points. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Get this game now!

This game is kickass. Cool cyberpunk theme, awesome soundtrack and feels like a modern Neo Geo game. I got it on sale for $5 and that feels like a steal for a game this quality. Even not on sale this game is worth it.

While the game's themes are decidedly based on 1980s action films, its technical quality is much more along the lines of a AAA action side-scroller from the mid-90s, with the gameplay of something like Robocop Versus Terminator. And to that end, its gameplay is straightforward, with all complexity lying in the challenge and ability of the player to execute well without taking damage. No RPG mechanics, minimal power creep, just an honest-to-goodness old-fashioned action platformer / shooter. More forgiving than Contra, you have some HP, and levels have checkpoints. But it's still challenging. There's a bit of secret hunting, and optional challenges and 4 difficulty levels to keep you chasing higher expertise, should you enjoy pushing yourself. But really the reason to play this game is the beautiful retro audio/visuals and the turn-off-brain action blasting. Wouldn't mind going through it again in co-op. If you like Genesis-era action/shooter platforming, you'll probably get a kick out of Huntdown.
