Fun game, worth it with a huge discount (bought it for ~2 Euros). It was a lot of fun, the graphics and the atmosphere is very charming, the music is excellent! Main story is very good. Combat is unusual, interesting, but learnable and well-playable, after you found certain logic behind it. Weapon/item combination is an excellent idea! What a pity that the creators shut down the possibility of the multiplayer and online lelveling up option... 6/10 for me

So far, I've liked the game. The graphics, story and atmosphere are exactly as described on the store page, and I like the gameplay. The only two things I don't like are the exclusive item system and the save management. First, the exclusive item system. You should know that a character can carry only 4 items at a time - 2 weapons and 2 utility items. This means that you'll have to make choices in what kind of gear your crew has and what they'll be able to do. The problem here is that some characters have exclusive items . They can't leave these, meaning that their storage capacity for that item type will be halved, severely hampering their flexibility. Second, the save management. The save management is absolutely atrocious. Levels can (for me at least) easily take an hour, and the only time the game is saved is upon level completion. You can't switch between saves, and while you're playing a level, you can revert to the last checkpoint or to the start of the level, but these checkpoints are unmarked. It's happened to me that I got to a checkpoint with a state in which I couldn't win, and had to start over. I also haven't been able to find the save files in the gamefiles, so I couldn't manage my saves that way either. The exclusive item isn't that bad, but the save management frequently has me reconsidering whether it's a good idea to play now, as it'll mean committing to play for (probably) an hour. Verdict: begrudging recommend, but I really wish the game would save upon quitting the game, or better, have a manual save system.

I bought this for a dollar or two, and it was worth it at that price. The single player turn-based mechanics were given an interesting twist in that you plan an action, then a move for each of your characters (instead of move/act) and then you and the opponents play out the action at once. No real RNG element as weapons do a fixed damage and always hit, but there is a varied choice of weapons with different features. That made it different enough to be interesting, and new mechanics/challenges were introduced throughout the 30+ "scenes" in the game. That said, 30 scenes were a bit long to be held with just the different mechanic, and I felt it dragged a bit in the end. Not much replay value. Retro Sci-Fi setting, tongue in cheek humor, and story line (with twists) were decent enough. No voice acting, and I found myself generally playing with the audio off. Ended on a Cliffhanger that makes you think there was intended to be another chapter or a sequel that never made it, but in a way, that's faithful to the retro Sci-Fi source. Its glaring deficiency is lack of the ability to save. You could restart at the last checkpoint inside a scene if you were still playing and got in an untenable position, but if you exit the game while in a scene, you have to start over that entire scene (including stepping through the dialog at the start). Fortunately, its not a particularly difficult game once you get the hang of the mechanic (and no difficulty setting), so restarts are fairly rare unless you had to shut down. But I found myself leaving it up a lot when I had to walk away from the keyboard because life called. If I had paid $11 I might not be as positive, but at $2 I feel I got more than I paid for.

A great TRPG, with less RPG elements but that gives it a nice spin (your inventory and character determines skills, it is way better than what you may think at first). Great story, although it drags a bit towards the end. Some questionable choices forced on the player, but altogether a good effort on narrative and gameplay. Turn mechanics introduce a spin, with different action, shoot, move times and ways to mix/cancel them. It was a refreshing game to play for a veteran of the genre, and with many cool innovations. Did not play the MP element, but it should be fun also. 40 hours for the full campaign, more or less, perhaps limited replay value unless you want to try different builds/weapons.
