One of the indie games that’s currently on a big discount, Inbento . This game tells its story without using any text or narration. Instead, we’re given a series of pictures showing the everyday life of a mother cat who always prepares bento lunches for her child, from when the kitten is really young until they eventually grow up. Story-wise, it’s actually quite sad. Even though everything is told through pictures, the game still manages to deliver the story and emotions of the characters really well. The gameplay is a puzzle game with 14 chapters, and each chapter has 9 levels. Unlocking all the achievements is also pretty easy since you basically just need to complete all the chapters. Small spoiler : to unlock the final achievement, you need to scroll down during the credits to find an additional level and complete it. As for the downsides, I feel like the game can get pretty repetitive, especially during the later levels. But I can understand why, since this is pretty common with puzzle indie games, so I’d consider this only a minor issue. Overall, Inbento is a really good choice if you want something relaxing to play while looking for a change of pace. The puzzles feel pretty fresh, and it’s really rewarding when you finally manage to solve some of the more difficult levels.
inbento is one of the coziest puzzle games I've played. The adorable art style, relaxing music, charming little story, and most importantly... cats. A perfect game to unwind with. The difficulty ramps up at a great pace, constantly introducing new mechanics without ever feeling unfair. Some of the later puzzles really made me stop and think, and finally solving them genuinely felt rewarding. If you're looking for a relaxing puzzle game that still manages to challenge you (and features an adorable story with cats), this is an easy recommendation.
This puzzle game is about recreating bento box layouts by arranging food pieces according to specific rules. As you progress, new mechanics are introduced, turning what seems like a simple concept into a cleverly designed experience. In my opinion, the difficulty ramps up at a great pace. The first puzzles gently teach you the mechanics, but later levels really give your brain a deeper workout. There were several moments where I stared at the board for so long it started to feel like it was staring back at me, until it finally clicked and instantly made me feel like a puzzle genius again. Finishing each chapter rewards us with illustrations, and these adorable illustrations deserve a special mention. They add so much warmth and charm to the cozy feel of the game. They tell the story of a mother cat and her kitten, showing the ups and downs of parenthood as life unfolds. It adds a soft emotional touch. I really enjoyed this puzzle game and I highly recommend it, especially for its very low price.
