For four agonizing, soul-crushing years, I endured this game on Y8. Four years of raw, unadulterated suffering, watching a slideshow at a cinematic 12 FPS while my laptop cooked my thighs like a cheap microwave steak. My brain melted, my retinas burned, and my mouse hand developed a twitch that my doctor refuses to diagnose. I was basically training like Goku in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, except instead of heavy gravity, it was 2010 Flash Player lag. So, when I finally boughtIntrusion 2 on Steam and booted it up on a functional machine, it was like taking off a 500lb pair of concrete shoes. The physics engine didn't even know what hit it. Moving at a buttery-smooth frame rate felt like breaking the sound barrier. I tore through every enemy, obliterated every boss, and utterly humiliated the game in 6.8 hours flat. 14/14 achievements unlocked. 100% completed. The bosses were screaming for mercy, but after suffering four years in browser-helI, mercy was long dead and buried under a pile of ragdoll physics and explosive crates. Did I waste four years of my youth struggling through a pixelated slideshow? Absolutely. Was 100% speedrunning it in under 7 hours to exact my revenge worth every second of trauma? 100% yes. 10/10. My therapist is going to hear about this, but the high score stays.
If there was a way to track my playtime on the demo I played on all sorts of websites when I was younger it would be nearing hundreds A genuinely amazing side-scrolling shooter, simple gameplay with good physics, fun to fight bosses accompanied by a soundtrack that frickin' rips. Length is about hour and a half but it's well worth it imho. Only setbacks would be that it's locked to 30 fps and it's pretty much impossible to get out of grabs without double input
When I was but a wee lad, I'd replay this game *countless* times. On the ol' laptop on Friv. The first one too! But mostly Intrusion 2. It was always so fun and cool, imagining my character doing all these cool moves n crap, destroying and shooting giant mechs or robots away. One of my favorite things was to take the grappling hook mech and wield pieces of metal like giant riot shields! So nostalgic. One of my favorite personal experinces growing up. Bias aside, If you wanna simply see what *peak* shooter sidescrollers were like back in the day, I'd recommend this, but wait for it to go on sale. Now unbias aside, I would buy this game again just to support the creator. I cannot express enough the joy this game brought my younger self. Thank you Aleksei for creating so many memories.. Can't wait for the third!
