Despite the title, this is not an erotic S&M visual novel with a painful fantasy vibe. It's a really enjoyable mash up of Smash TV and Gauntlet with a fantasy vibe. Despite preceding it, there's also something here that's reminiscent of the pace and flow in Vampire Survivors; moving in tune with your basic axe throws as you try to forge a path through the horde. This is purely room-based though - clear one and move on to next as you head to the boss of each floor before descending to the next. Bought on sale for a whopping 65 pence, I've had a great time so far and at this price it's an absolute steal if you enjoy this retro-flavoured kind of stuff. Solo play is fun and challenging, split-screen local co-op is a very welcome inclusion and a perfect reason to hand over your rubbish controller to a friend, sibling or significant other. The pixel art, audio and all-round feel is bang-on and the game does an lovely job of bringing the old up to date without feeling like it's too modernised or compromised. It feels like a well crafted love letter to the past and I've found it great to dip into every now and again. Some rogue-like permanent upgrades and rpg-like levelling helps ease you in too. If you like the sound of that, then what are you waiting for? Get fisticled!

There are two of these games: Iron Fisticle Iron Crypticle This one is the first of the two. Simple wholesome twinsticking fun - there are some levelling up elements but definitely not a roguelike, just minor progressions that add more weapons/haelth as you play more. It's fun for some casual shooting and can be played with same-pc friends.

I'll be honest, I only bought the game for the cheese Steam profile background and cheese emoticon which I infuriatingly learned you need to play 2 hours of the game to unlock the backgrounds that come with it. So I launched the game and decided to give it a shot only to realise it does not fullscreen properly on my 4k monitor and the windowed version is not custom sizeable enough to fill the screen. That's very, very frustrating which lead me to just leave the game running in main menu for 2 hours to get my sweet sweet cheese background and cheese emoticon. While I will likely not play the game due to the screen sizing issue, I will still recommend this game as it comes with a wonderful cheese background and cheese emoticon, worth it for the price I payed.

Great twinstick shooter with both a rougelite (classic, with permanent upgrades and floor selection for casuals) and rougelike (challenge, go from 1st floor with no upgrades) modes, along with the 3 classic difficulty options. All of these modes and difficulties (and also coop) have high score boards that are still functional today. Only real complaint would be that during the bonus platforming minigame and shopping it sometimes accidentally buys/jumps when imputting movement directions, but outside of that the game is amazing.

9/10 I enjoy loading this now and then for a Smash TV style game. It's pretty simplistic/arcadey, but fine for the price. Very cool game and I thought it was much harder but after you enter the game and play, it's really very interesting, I want part 2!
