Performance: no crashes, no stutters, no hangs, game ran well, slight FPS drops when the screen was filled with activity Lore: 6/10 Story: 5/10 Gameplay: 7.5/10 Setting: 6/10 Overall visuals: 7/10 Music and Sound: 7.8/10 My rating: 7.75/10 This game was way way more fun than I expected it would be. I was also very surprised by the sound and music quality, which I only realized how good they were, after I had a YT video playing on the side. I just wish there was more. More abilities, infantry with different equipment, tanks, armor and or fortifications around the machine gun, multi-barrel rocket launcher upgrades, etc. etc. then again for 5.24€? Or for the discounted price of 1.57€ that I got it for? Absolutely worth it! Pros [*]Incredibly fun, even though it is a very simple game [*]The weather changes if you play a map longer [*]The environment has light destructibility [*]You have AI allies [*]You can have an unlimited amount of allies on the map [*]Reasonable survival time achievements - you don't need to play a map for over 30 minutes in order to get all of the achievements for that map [*]The support abilities are fun to use and also crucial to last longer, once the invasions really kick in in the maps [*]The difference that upgrades make is ridiculous [*]Really really well done sound, music, radio effects for support voice lines, etc. [*]You can see the leaderboards when you are playing a map, this gives a solid reason to continue surviving [*]A surprising amount of achievements for such a simple game [*]Steam cards [*]The performance is very good, even when there is a lot going on on the screen [*]Nice and straightforward UI Cons [*]There is only 1 workshop mod.. that is a meme mod [*]There are only 4 maps, that you replay in order to progress [*]Nothing makes sense if you think about it even a little bit [*]The machine gunner is extremely exposed and you can't get any armor, just a health upgrade [*]Finishing a map achievement only gets activated AFTER you start the map again and after you destroy 1 vehicle, not after you actually finish the map [*]Not much enemy variety [*]Zero friendly soldier variety

If you can stomach the admittedly trashy, attention-seeking premise, you'll find that IS Defense is in reality, a fairly entertaining arcade shooting gallery. Don't hold it to the standards of a 100 hour long epic adventure; it's much more comparable to those pick up and play arcade, browser and mobile games that can easily be squeezed into a busy day. If you need a time killer that'll hold you over when you need a quick rush of digital violence, then you'll likely enjoy this offering. Recommended.

A few hours of mindless shooting fun for few bucks. Especially good deal during a sale. Nothing ground breaking but worth it imo.

Played this when it first came out then moved on. But have just revisited it for a bit of fun & had forgotten just how good it is. So if you fancy a good old shoot 'em up that builds with intensity & difficulty then give this a go. I'll be going back more often from now on.
