High Hell is a fast-paced level-based FPS speedrunning game where you play as a woman trying to bring down an evil tyrant by sabotaging his business ventures in the upper roofs and penthouses of the game's urban hell. The game is cartoony if not basic looking but the makeup of the levels and visual signaling is well done. The soundtrack is very intense, industrial, aggressive electronica that pumps up the action because nearly the entire game is intense and involves rapid gunfights where you get the chance to trial and error your way through a level until you beat it - and eventually decide if you want to keep replaying it in order to improve your time and score. Further deepening HH's wacky vibe are the "mini-games" in between levels where you do random funny things with props or change the boss's poses in yoga, all of this of course while calmer electronic is playing in the background. For people who enjoy speedrunning they might be disappointed, because there is no letter ranking system just a numerical high-score. High Hell is a very difficult game where you kick down doors, burn money, complete side objectives like destroying items, and fire your laser gun with precision to regain health from each enemy killed. The enemies placed throughout the level take time to overcome but once you get the hang of it by your 10th retry it really starts to click. Overall from the music to the vibrant personality teeming inside HH to the tight, if frustratingly challenging gunplay, I would definitely recommend High Hell even if it wasn't quite for me.

Fun game. ABYSMAL bosses. The bosses were the worst part and almost ruined the game.
