Just Go is a solid game. I'm still pretty inexperienced with go, and am using this and Pudding Fantasy to get better. If you don't know what your doing, these two a pretty good combination to get started: Pudding Fantasy as the tutorial, and Just Go as practice. If it's good for people who know what they're doing, I can't say. Silverstar Go might be a better choice but that's like $40 and I've never seen it on sale. The reviews suggest that the game is abandoned. I wouldn't be surprised if was, it's a 2500 year old game. How many updates could it need? But to say it is unplayable is an exageration. At time of review, the last update was in september 2025, hardly abandoned, but could use more content for sure. 7/10 pretty good, not enough go games out there so this one stands out. $10 for this seems a little steep, get it on sale.

Great way to learn Go with no monthly subscription. I didn't really get into the simulator aspect of the game, but I enjoyed the puzzles, the interactive tutorials, and the AI of varying difficulties. The puzzles and the lessons are fantastic and being able to choose the strength of the AI (and having it play poorly enough for a beginner to have a chance) really help. I do wish the low AI played more like a real person BUT on other Go games I played on my phone, I was crushed by their easiest AI and had a hard time learning from it. Playing an AI that is only a little stronger than I am is much easier to learn from.

This game is honestly kind of odd and I'm not sure who the target audience is. Basically, this is Tiger Woods Golf, or Tony Hawk Pro Skater, but for Go. If you're good at Go in real life, you'll be great at this game. But oddly, this isn't just a game where you play Go. You gain xp and can level up abilities that basically let you cheat. This game isn't so much a straightforward Go game as it is a game about being a Go player. You can level up your skills and get free move suggestions or a certain number of undos, etc. You will compete in Leagues and championships and follow the career of your fictional Go player. All that being said, you will still play actual Go in this game. The difficulty settings are also really weird. The lowest difficulty (Beginner) is listed as "20k - 1d". Lol, what? And the next one is "9k - 7d". Not exactly sure how that one works. I can say that as an AGA 10k in real life the simulated "10k" opponents on Beginner difficulty are laughably bad at the game. Maybe I should go up to the next difficulty? But 7d is way above my level. Just one of the many quirks of this game. So, if you play Go and want to practice, play online on a server like Fox, or OGS. If you want to pretend like you're an amateur with a long Go career, play this I guess? Edit: Apparently you can use this game as a prettier interface for playing on OGS. 10/10

I'm not the greatest Go player, but ever since I learned the game several years ago it has completely eclipsed Chess for me as my go to (no pun intended) strategy game. The simple elegance and deep and emergent strategy of Go has sunk its teeth into my very core. I've since bought a few physical boards and also have sought out the best video game adaptations on Android, Nintendo Switch, and PC, even down to "gnugo" on my laptop's Linux terminal. All that being said, this game even in such a short playtime, has quickly became one of my favorites. It has such a smooth and beautiful ambiance to it and I always enjoy firing it up for a quick match before or after a longer gaming session on a bigger game. Additionally it works PERFECTLY on the SteamDeck. ¡Qué bacano! 10/10

This game has a lot of features, more than expected, and the AI assist is not bad. Playing against it, it feels like a real opponent. There's a skill-tree you can earn points towards and apply towards abilities, some of which I'm not sure I like, such as "making the opponent more likely to play a bad move.). I'm not sure how to tell when this is the reason, but during openings it does sometimes play weird 1st line moves. Fortunately you can remove skills from the skilltree doing that. But it has competitions, tournaments, tutorials on rules and strategies, and a selection of locations for games to be played, tsumego and other puzzles. The music is soothing, and there are probably more features I haven't used yet too. I was not expecting such a feature rich game, and it seems well polished.
