I'm not the greatest Go player, but ever since I learned the game several years ago it has completely eclipsed Chess for me as my go to (no pun intended) strategy game. The simple elegance and deep and emergent strategy of Go has sunk its teeth into my very core. I've since bought a few physical boards and also have sought out the best video game adaptations on Android, Nintendo Switch, and PC, even down to "gnugo" on my laptop's Linux terminal. All that being said, this game even in such a short playtime, has quickly became one of my favorites. It has such a smooth and beautiful ambiance to it and I always enjoy firing it up for a quick match before or after a longer gaming session on a bigger game. Additionally it works PERFECTLY on the SteamDeck. ¡Qué bacano! 10/10

update: I've played around 10+ hours of this game. While I still enjoy it, I have one minor issue, specifically with Career Mode. I'm currently around 25k, but I often get paired with opponents who are much stronger, around 11k. This makes it extremely difficult to play and win, which can be demotivating. It would be nice if, as you progress in your career, you competed against opponents who are realistically closer to your skill level. For example, an advanced intermediate player wouldn't typically compete in a beginner match. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if this tweak will ever be made, as the developer seems to have abandoned the game. _____ This game is great! I'm fairly new to Go, but this game is fantastic! The career mode alone makes it worth buying. Someone in the comments compared it to Madden’s career mode, and that’s spot on! I’m currently playing with the game set to only 9x9 boards, but there are options to use other board sizes or have the game naturally scale up as you progress. The Go analyzer is an awesome tool, I’ve been using it to review past games and see exactly where I played well and where I messed up. I really hope the dev keeps working on this game and maybe even gives us some DLC, like new environments or other cool additions. (For context, I’ve only been playing for about a week and come from a chess background. But playing Just Go has already made tons of Go concepts click.) 10/10 must buy

This is a very good edition of a Go computer game. The graphics, music and display are beautiful. The layout of the training mode is nicely done with Go problems grouped by type. It makes navigating puzzles/problems easy and intuitive for new comers. On a lot of Go sites game problems are just one massive mess. It is nice to have them all sorted, laid out and grouped systematically. There is a tournament feature, where you play various championships against different AI players modelled presumably on real life players(?). If you like Go, this is a nice relaxing computer game to have. Haven't tired the online feature. It would be nice if this edition of Go was available on other consoles.

Flawed, but still very good. + Has KataGo for a smart AI and nice analysis tools. Probably the most accessible KataGo GUI I've tried. + Runs perfectly on Linux via Proton. + The evolving elo / rank gives you a good measure of your progress. + Graphics are quite good compared to other Go games. The important thing here is pleasing colors and a sleek interface really. You really don't see much of these environments they showcase; your view is locked on the board and can't move, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. - At the end of the game, the board is blurred and it won't show you how territory is counted. You have to go into analysis and move to the final board state to see how the score actually worked in the end. - The analysis is decent, but I much prefer lichess's use of AI to fill a table and mark each move as good/mistake/error/blunder. JustGo uses some Monte Carlo method that changes the best move recommendation as you look at every board state, making it tough to study. - My PC fans fire up like crazy for this game. Probably the KataGo neural networks are cooking my GPU, but I've also run KataGo on mobile devices so idk. Haven't tested the connection to OGS yet. I wish I could play this implementation of Go on my iPad!

Best go game there is on Steam currently, including an actual career in leagues. The only drawback is that the difficulty in dan ranks is insanely artificial. The AI plays like it has strategy and understanding of the game of a 10kyu with the counting of a 9 dan. Other than that, this is an absolute must play, if you're into go.
