A pretty good teaching tool, it teaches rules, a bit of the history of the game, etc. It has an optional feature where it shows you a sort of 'zone of control' sort of the game to give a new player like me some sort of visual representation of how the flow of a game might look, which I feel really helps me visualize what is actually happen in the game as I play. After a game you can then review what happened step by step with the computer showing suggestions of what moves may have been best in each situation, which I really feel helps me get an idea of what the potential goals behind a move. For someone like me who has no real knowledge of the game prior to this it feels like a great way to get into it.
Yes, I am enjoying this program. Even after playing this game in person first, starting in the fall season of 1998, after meeting the local "GO" club at the Independent movie theater and in the hallway outside the movie, after I had finished watching the movie called "PI", which only just briefly showed the GO ban version of the game, that was sitting as this type does, on the floor, with a artistic Yin-Yan symbol on the board, made with the pieces of the game. I don't remember them actually talking about the game though.
