March 2025
I only initially tried it because it has a free demo. So glad it does because I love this game. The only bad thing I can say about this game is that there isn't more of it. It's dripping with style in every aspect. I won't talk about the art, you can already see it. But the mechanics, sounds and gameplay are all equally incredible. - Mechanics I love every unlock. Each one significantly alters the gameplay and not one feels bad to use. The Showdowns (mechanic where you fan the pistol and slow time) are all super interesting and act as the perfect life vest in times of crisis. Do note, you will 100% try and use the Showdown, whether to get thinking time, get a free reload, I-frame damage, or just get rid of some grunts and not have it available. rip. - Gameplay This is probably my favourite type of game. I don't mean genre, I mean challenge. Yes you unlock new items but none of them are really upgrades, they're all side-grades. succeeding at this game is simply about getting very mechanically proficient with it. That may sound daunting and no doubt, this game is very hard but it is also incredibly forgiving. You can literally dodge into attacks by accident and live because of the evade window. That said, the game sorta needs to be this forgiving because 1 hit and you die. But that's okay because I believe in you :3 and when you get good, you'll make this game your btch. I really want to say more but my love of the design would make me descend into rambling runes. point is, feels fluid and forgiving, change your build if it feels repetitive, don't tilt. - Sound I'm not a big knower of sound design or music. This shit slaps. In a melee game I would call the weapons "weighty". Idk what to call it here but the bang of the bullets is perfect and the reloading, omg the reloading. I can here the bullet casings ringing in my skull. The sound design and the subdued music really do an incredible job of immersing the player in the atmosphere and tying together all of the other aspects of this game. Yeah the art slaps, yes the gameplay is slick and responsive but like... bang bang..chkchkchk... bang. bang chk. - truly divine - Cons I want more, greedy little goblin that I am. A campaign would be amazing. Coop would be life-changing. More Bosses would be mind-breaking. Thank you devs, you did a suuper good job. If you're not a dev and you got here, buy the game coward! It costs less than a Happy Meal and it'll bring you more joy. At very least try the demo ;-;

Ignore the latest tripple A 90+ $ release, spend 5 bucks on this. Play it for a couple of hours, try out all the guns, try to get all achievements. Once you are done, you haven't lost that much life and saved about 55-75 smackaroos. The game being great is just a bonus at this point. It IS great, the gameplay is snappy, the art/sound are almost suspiciously great, second to second decision making keeps you on your toes and prevents the whole affair from going stale. You can probably cheese it, but by the time you get that good, you'll be done with the game anyways and can proceed to invite your sweetheart/friends for some ice-cream or some such

First and foremost, I need to start by saying how satisfying the shooting is. I could never get tired of how cool it felt to land shots. Addictive, fast-paced gameplay, crisp graphics, as well as good animation and sound (the soundtrack does get repetitive, but it wasn't enough to annoy me—the game fits nicely with different kinds of music anyway). Easy to get into, hard to master. Kill The Crows gets more difficult at a nice pace, and as I played, I could easily see how my runs became more consistent as I tried out different loadouts and understood more from the patterns of what was going on. You’ll have to try and fail a lot in order to get better at it. You’ll face the same enemies on the same map and end up failing hundreds of times for missing the same details. So, if you don't like repetition, this game may not be your thing. Enemies vary enough to keep things interesting, and loadouts proved useful in many ways, to the point of making you want to experiment with them. I ended up building strategies I wouldn’t have thought of at first. Also, challenges were creative and a nice touch. It is a short game, but if you want to optimize how you play, there’s a clear learning curve with no ceiling, and at least for me it was totally worth exploring the game and getting more from it. All in all, I enjoyed playing Kill The Crows a lot —it's a great game because its simplicity and straightforwardness are executed really smoothly, making for GODDAMN FUN action. Ffffuuuccck, I wanna shoot more stuff

Not enough women go on bloody crusades of revenge against the criminals that wronged them. I'm glad the devs are taking the 1st steps in fixing society. Fr tho, I don't have an hour of game when writing this but I can already tell that it's more than worth the already cheap price of admission. Props to the devs for the quick, simple and addicting gameplay + a fantastic artstyle and pixel animations!

For $5 you get a pretty good experience. The combat flow is fun and all of the enemies do a great job at applying different types of pressure on the player without feeling to overbearing. I really like the art of chaining slowdown kills for the free reloads and pressure clearing. Ultimately I walk away from this experience hoping the developers make a more fleshed out version down the line. Something longer and more level oriented instead of wave based. It would also work well in the same format as Hyper Light Drifter. Lots and lots of potential here.
