An upgrade but at the same time a downgrade from the previous title. The best way to experience the game,like in the previous title,was by playing it co-op. In this game, in order to experience it in the best way possible,you need 3 other people. The story and the villain are better than in the last game.The villain becomes constant threat to the player from the start of the game when he places a curse on the player that makes them a target for Ammit,which leads to many chases troughout the game.The antagonist also plays around with the environments during the hero`s journey,making him a powerful threat.The story and the bosses are based on actual Egyptian mythology,the design for the bosses being a creative reimagination of the hieroglyphs. The biggest downgrade is in the gameplay.The game now,has a chest mechanic,where gems collected in the level can be used to open chests,which can give different rarity loot,from common all the way to legendary.This includes rings,amulets and weapons.The biggest problem with this is that you need to gamble for some items that are essential for the completion of all challenges in the game.It took me 31 amulets to finally get an amulet with the treasure hunter buff to help me achieve the score requirement on some levels,because otherwise is impossible. Esthetically the game has the Egyptian feeling to it,but it lacks that quality in its environment. No matter if you play alone or with friends,the game will still be fun to play!

Honestly, the first game is better. The looting system in this game is more punishing than the first. The hub area is unnecessary and very big. Plus, I think the spear added more to the puzzles than this staff.

It's fun. It works perfectly so far in Steam Deck. I hesitated before because of bad reviews. I should have ignored them and enjoyed this earlier.
