I remember playing this game on some crappy phone when I was a child, then losing it to the passing of time. After many years I've remembered about its existence and found out it was on steam. Few more years forward, I bought it, enjoyed it thoroughly, got almost all achievements... And before I get into the emotional part of my review I want to emphasize how amazing this game was for its time. Indie scene was not as big as it is now. Not only that but it's on multiple platforms. It has beautiful 2D graphics and physics based platforming (anything physics based was extremely popular back then). Game is a damn gem, especially for a little me all those years ago. If you don't want to read a long story about me getting the last achievement of the game, I can just safely recommend you play and enjoy it, it aged well. But if you're a completionist I would encourage you to think twice! See, most of the achievements are trivial, collect something, complete few very simple challenges - done! However... There is one final achievement that has you complete the game on "hardcore" mode - in other words one singular life for all 20 levels of the game. One slip up, one mistake, start over. If you've played the game you know that the levels that might prove SOME challenge are like 8-4 last levels. But, the difficulty of the challenge comes from the need of being consistent and then quenching your nerves on those last "hard" levels somehow. Me, being an inpatient freak, I couldn't get to the last 2 levels, after about 15 hours of tries (all other content took like 4) I got to level 19 and died... By that point I already implemented numerous speedrunning tech and skips into my runs, but still, being patient and lucky with that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unreliable physics engine proved hard. I was so fed up and desperate that I even tried using VM to save snapshots of the running game in hardcore mode, which worked! But the performance was so ♥♥♥♥ (like 5 to 10 frames) and my abilities with tech wouldn't allow me to comfortably setup a gpu passthrough to fix said performance. Even then I played on VM with snapshots till level 9, and while envisioning myself getting the achievement I understood that my ego wouldn't allow it this way... Quick decision and I'm 6 hours into a session of relentlessly trying at the hardcore mode the legit way, no result, not even level 17. I took a break, came back, got to level 17, then 18, my previous record 19, at level 20th I was really stressed and excited, last obstacle (you know which one), one breath and I'm flying down, praying for the spikes to be merciful, the rest is history. Not even Celeste moonberry was as challenging as this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I say that's a bad achievement design. Look at games like Limbo, same age of indie games btw. That game also took about an hour to run and had an achievement to complete within 5 deaths. You know what else is different aside from 5!=1? It almost doesn't have anything physics based in its gameplay, it's predictable! I am a completionist, and this damn game's design made it miserable for folks like me! I was ready to suffer for so long for the damn medal. But whenever I see a good achievements design which understands how to challenge the player without making it unfair, my respect for the developers and enjoyment of the game skyrocket (which is not the case with this game).

In case you're wondering: yes, it is as fun as the trailers look. An engaging and challenging puzzle/precision platformer that begins fair enough and increases its challenge but never quite up to hair pullingly infuriating. Leo cannot jump in the conventional way but he can glide circularly with round walls and fluff himself up so he floats slowly down. You can also force him down quickly so that you have full control and a deth never feels unfair. This fresh movement style makes the whole game feel original and not in a gimmicky way. This game won't eat up too much of your time if you just want to collect the coins. It's the challenges for finishing undertime and not dying that will ultimately be 90% of your play time but it's jolly fun to do it while listening to something. Maybe more of a weekday game than a weekend game but I had a great time. Whimsical yet dignified with its furball characters and muted colors but there are variety of vibrant landscapes and backgrounds to enjoy.

Leo’s Fortune is a physics-based platformer game that offers a fun and unique experience. You play as “Leo” a fluffy creature searching for his stolen gold, moving through levels filled with obstacles and puzzles. What stands out most about the game is its amazing graphics and beautiful art design. Each level looks like a painted scene, making the game visually impressive and very enjoyable to look at. The gameplay focuses on movement, jumping, and changing Leo’s shape to solve puzzles and overcome challenges. The game is fun and entertaining, but it is not very long, and some players might find it a bit simple or short. However, if you enjoy collecting stars and challenging yourself, you will definitely have fun and the time will feel longer, I enjoyed playing it. I played it over several sessions, and it felt quite long.

This is the first PC game my daughter has played. She enjoyed the game a lot and learned a lot from the game design. I am happy to watch her playing instead of playing the game by myself.
