I have had this game since its early access days, much has changed some changes for the better and some for not. But I can at least say that this is a very fun game and I have met and befriended some incredible people. The game it's self is fun with the different tasks to complete and there are many different setting that can be crafted for each lobby and game, so each round can be given a new experience. This game isn't for everyone, if you are looking for a open social game give this one a go. Most people's complaints is about others who mod or (cheat) when in all reality they are just people who have had the game a long time and trying to make it more fun and interesting and the creators will try and blame the modders for the lack of updates and major changes when (from the last update} the creators are giving up on the game. Why? I don't think we will ever really know. With all that aside the game is worth it. I always look forward to meeting new people and playing with my friends.

Only in this game can you fully understand the meaning of Ernest Hemingway’s words: “The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them”.

Very fun game but I hopped on after a bit of a break and it's basically unplayable due to hackers going around crashing lobbies, hope that gets patched before more skins are added

LOCKDOWN Protocol is a tense and immersive multiplayer experience that blends first-person action with the paranoia and deception of social deduction gameplay. Set in a high-tech facility under siege, the game drops 3 to 8 players into the roles of either loyal operatives trying to stabilize the base or a hidden Dissident working to sabotage their efforts from within. What sets LOCKDOWN Protocol apart is its real-time, action-oriented twist on the genre, eschewing voting screens and turn-based mechanics in favor of seamless, in-world interactions and proximity voice chat that heighten immersion and make every decision feel urgent and dangerous. The core loop revolves around completing various maintenance and survival tasks scattered throughout the complex, such as restoring power, realigning security systems, or handling hazardous containment breaches. These tasks are designed to encourage cooperation, with many requiring players to communicate under pressure—like guiding each other through visual puzzles or splitting up to multitask efficiently. Meanwhile, Dissidents can sabotage critical systems, steal necessary components, or eliminate operatives one by one, blending in just enough to maintain the illusion of loyalty. The real-time nature of the gameplay makes deception especially gripping—there’s no pause, no safety in discussion screens. Suspicion builds organically as players observe behavior, overhear conversations, or discover the aftermath of a betrayal. Visually, LOCKDOWN Protocol presents a sleek, atmospheric world with sterile corridors, flickering lights, and a creeping sense of isolation. The environment itself plays a crucial role in creating tension, offering plenty of blind spots, locked doors, and shadowy corners for a Dissident to exploit. The use of proximity voice chat elevates the tension even further, as teammates nervously exchange instructions, accuse one another, or scream for help in real time. The audio design is sharp and purposeful—each footstep, door hiss, or distant alarm helps players track movement and react to danger, making sound an integral part of gameplay. The game is clearly optimized for group play, particularly with friends or trusted players. While public lobbies exist, the best experiences come from private sessions where coordination and social dynamics can shine. That said, LOCKDOWN Protocol is still in Early Access, and it shows. The current build includes only one map and a limited variety of tasks, which can lead to a sense of repetition after extended play. Some matchmaking issues and the occasional disruptive player can diminish the experience in random lobbies, though the developers have been actively patching and tweaking based on community feedback. Despite its limitations, the foundation of LOCKDOWN Protocol is remarkably solid. Its blend of stealth, sabotage, and real-time decision-making makes it feel distinct from its inspirations. It trades the simplicity and humor of games like Among Us for a more serious, grounded tone that focuses on atmosphere and tension. The Dissident role feels especially satisfying, offering plenty of tools for subtle manipulation and bold attacks, and the fact that there are no formal voting mechanics adds to the immersive, player-driven storytelling. In its current form, LOCKDOWN Protocol feels like a promising evolution of the social deduction genre. It's not perfect—its content is still growing, and the experience depends heavily on who you’re playing with—but the core mechanics are strong, and its potential is clear. For players seeking a more intense, immersive alternative to casual party deduction games, this title delivers a gripping blend of cooperation and betrayal, where trust is fragile and danger is always just around the corner.
