Personally I very much enjoy this game. I say I maybe recommend it rather than fully recommend it because it's a large investment. The story from level 1-60 isn't too taxing, but once you hit 60 and get into endgame content, things can get confusing. I'll be honest, and call me a noob all you want, but I still have to look at guides to understand a lot of things. I have certain memory and processing problems, and find it difficult to retain all of the information needed to create a good character build. It can get extremely overwhelming. Some people will get very toxic in party content if you don't know every little detail about your character build, so don't fat finger a key in your rotation during endgame raids. They mean serious business. They will kick you and be-smite your name forever. Thankfully, the developers have kindly introduced solo endgame content for losers like me who A) Don't interact with other people well due to generalized anxiety disorder, and B) don't know our rotations and get through fights by sheer luck and button smashing (At least I'm honest). I am graeatly thankful for that. On the positive side, there is tons of content. There are multiple different raids and dungeons that you can do daily or weekly, as well as tasks. There's the Ark tour, the sidequests, your Stronghold to keep up with, the proving grounds PvP, my personal favorite fun game: the tower, and so many events thet always give rewards. Lost Ark is expensive to create the best builds, but it is not entirely impossible to F2P. Events often give away special loot to help develop your character, as do endgame dungeons and raids. something extremely useful, particularly if you have alts that you don't want to level from 1-60, but don't have the gold for knowledge transfer is the powerpass. Normally you have to buy it with gems, but during a lot of events you will be given one for free, so as long as you are already knowledgeable enough of high level character building and content, or willing to spend a lot of time learning, I reccomend using them to skip some character levels. TL;DR: Lost Ark is a great game if you can afford the time and investment. If you get overwhelmed, search for guides. If you can't avoid trolls, play solo content, it's nice and quiet. You can smash buttons and not have to know your rotation.

I did enjoy it when I played before, but it became too time intensive that I couldn't play anything else if I wanted to keep my characters topped off. Recommended only if it's your only game.

I stopped playing awhile ago. It's a good game don't get me wrong. It does became a rather grind late game when it comes to gear, but let's be honest that's expected for MMORPGs. It did become P2W in some cases, but that is also expected. The primary reason I stopped playing however? The community was very toxic when I stopped. If you didn't spend 30 minutes to study a guide before attempting a group raid, expect to never find willing players, be kicked, or have it end prematurely by the host. They are very salty about this and training lobbies were practically nonexistent. It didn't help said raids could be very punishing with party wipe mechanics in multiple phases. That being said, I do recommend it. It's free to play and you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I definitely did, but just understand once you hit the late game, it feels rather repetitive and you're at the mercy of the community's attitude unless you're contribute to that part of that problem.

Where do I even begin with this game. As a player that's been playing since launch I've been through the up and downs, the low lows and the high highs. From the whole Argos fiasco to the Brel fallout to the sudden AGS resurgence, I've been there. Do I recommend the game. Absolutely yes. I feel like the combat and raids in this game are pretty unmatched across the genre. If you are into fast-paced, high skill ceiling game play, where you can constantly see improvement in your play, its a great game. Now, I wouldn't call myself a hardcore player nor would I call myself a casual, but I am a veteran in this game. From my POV, the games great. I have people to play the latest and greatest content with and have a decent enough roster to get by through the current progression systems. For a new player though, I can see the struggles of what someone would go through. The constant gate keeping, toxicity, and reliance on DPS meter all make the game a pretty terrible experience for new players that want to play the latest raids. Not to mention the grueling recent progression systems that, albeit seeing some improvement, are still terrible for new players to get through. That's not to say the game is all bad for new players. There's a few pieces of advice I can give to new players: First, Instead of trying to join people's parties, creating learning parties is something that not too many people do, but goes a long way to progressing through a raid. I recommend this to all new players. There will always be those too timid to create their own parties, so create one and see how many people are looking to learn. Who knows, it could be the start of some new friendships. Second, take the game at your own pace. Its been out for 2 years, you are not catching up to day 1 veterans. I'm not saying this out of spite, its just the way the game is designed. Just take it slow and have fun. Third, I recommend checking out some starter guides on YouTube or some community websites such as Lost Ark Nexus, that can give you a good place to learn more about the game, classes, where to start, etc. If anyone reading this has more tips, feel free to comment so new players can see. I also want to add that as of 10/9/24 new ignite servers are coming to the game which heavily emphasize the new player experience and would be the perfect place for someone new to start. Well that's about it for my stream of consciousness. Hope I got my point across decently well. I really enjoy the game, and would love for some new people to experience what I have experienced the past couple years. Thanks! TLDR; Game is fun, Combat is unmatched. New player experience can be terrible, but the experience is based on what you are doing as a new player to get yourself out there. Also ignite servers very good
