This pulled me in for the obvious Final Fantasy Tactics art style inspiration during early access. Despite the rough translation and pretty basic turn based grid gameplay... the roguelite elements have kept me coming back every now and then for a while when I'm craving a mix of deckbuilding with a lil FFTactics.

I would really recommend this game, for me it scratched the same itch that Alina of the Arena did but this game feels like it allows for more overpowered builds. I found it challenging and I think it's often hard to tell whether an enemy will be able to hit you in the next turn (especially bosses). As others have pointed out, the English translation does need some work - I'd be happy to post screenshots and offer corrections to the dev if they have a discord somewhere for it. It's at the point where: - the writing is 'correct' just a bit janky at times, anyone who speaks fluent English would be able to make the corrections - the card descriptions are 80% accurate, 20% ambiguous which can be frustrating - the enemy effects are about 50/50 on whether or not what you expect them to do will match reality Overall I recommend the game, I was doubtful when it didn't get updates for about 4 months but this is a solid release (and I empathise with devs who financially may be unable to justify giving it the time/polish it requires to be an automatic recommend).

Lost in Fantaland is a Fantastic game. It's genuinely one of the best deckbuilders I've played and should be way more popular. You already know how roguelike deckbuilders work, so here's a few things that stand out about this game: - You can use multiple cards at once to combine their effects. You have a card that hits 3 enemies but does only 5 damage and a card that hits one enemy for 20 damage? Use them together and now you're hitting 3 enemies for 25 damage each - There's a big emphasis on movement and using the map/movement cards to your advantage. - There are tons of physics interactions. For example, there's a map with poisonous clouds that explode when they're hit with fire. There's also an enemy that drops a bomb when it dies, so if you kill that enemy next to a poison cloud it sets off a chain of explosions - Classes are unique and distinct, with some ideas I haven't seen before - The "Trickster" class is very unique and manipulates traps and the environment (trees, rocks, cacti etc.) to deal damage while also having positional attacks and a "combo" system to build up toward big hits. On top of that, the Trickster's cards don't cost mana but instead fill his "curse" bar that gives big debuffs to yourself based on how many "free" cards you just played - Dialogue and flavor text is pretty funny There's a decent amount of playstyles you can go with and the game is genuinely challenging at higher ascensions. That said, the amount of different Artifacts (unique passive buffs) is kind of limited and you can easily remove cards from your deck, so sadly it's easy to force a playstyle instead of adapting to the run's RNG. Also, the English translation is kind of lacking. It's fine for the most part, but for some cards it's really not clear what they do.

A great combination of lite Final Fantasy Tactics and Slay the Spire. Well balanced, great art, nice interface. Highly recommend.
