Play Time: 39.6 hours Achievements: 11 of 11. 100% Date/Version: September 3rd 2026 Rating: 6 out of 10 Fate Hunters is a Roguelike Deckbuilder that allows you to eventually select from one of 5 characters. Each character with their own unique gimmick such as one whom focuses on Exile (removing a card permanently from your deck), to a character who specializes on using their heroic cards last each turn. The bosses that you'll face have their own puzzle of sorts to them, and a few being just way over tuned. Honestly while I have 40 hours in the game, probably about 16-20 of them hours were to get one achievement. And honestly for the first 4 hours maybe even 8 hours I really didn't like this game. Overtime it sort of grew on me, but it has it's flaws. You may find your self almost winning and loosing everything after 1 ½ hours of game play to get nothing. And by nothing this game has end game currency that you use to unlock characters, and starting cards. Play at your own risk. (Potential Spoilers) Units/characters: You have 5 unique characters, with one character being able to get heroic cards from any of the other 4 characters. Honestly the characters to not feel balanced, and it stems from the game play. When a character doesn't have a good healing mechanic you'll ask yourself “whelp how long will I last?” more than likely not long. Don't get me wrong the first time I reached the end was with the Raider who “exiles” cards. I had a super cool build that no other time with the other characters could I replicate. But in the end the very first character you have is probably the easiest and best character to beat the game with. On another note: you can unlock cards to add to your supplier but you can't change your primary cards before you start. And majority of the unlocks I mean MAJORITY are absolutely worthless and are not worth changing up anything. Enemies/Bosses: There's a nice variety here, but! Like a large number of games balance is not real, and many times you'll face off against a group of enemies that will just end your run. You can be dominating the first 5 bosses, then run across a team of enemies whom will just cause you to lose the game. In addition there is a boss called the HAG. Yes this boss is completely overpowered and will ruin your runs. Almost every successful run or decent run I had I didn't face off against the HAG why... because the HAG would just end my runs, even with different builds. Items you can Equip/cards: You'll find sometimes you can gravitate towards different cards but overall healing is the best option you need it. Sadly almost every guide, and almost every person on the discussion board indicates to play with the starting character.... and guess who has healing cards... the starting character. There are some character you would like to play but you can't I say this because there are some really fun cards with each of these characters. BUT without a reliable way to heal there is no way you'll ever just out damage your opponents are round. There's a mechanic in the game (that's random) by the way that will allow you to upgrade your cards, and even then you better hope you have some treasure. Even if that treasure is your end game currency screw it, the unlocks suck anyways. BUT gain this is a rare encounter, I've had games where I purposely every chance to encounter this random encounter was only able to increase 1 weapon to a level 2. It's a dumb mechanic that you'll won't get to use as often as you want to. Then you'll run into a merchant, this merchant is worthless 98% because majority of the time not only are the items he offers random, but you'll either already have them or won't need them. Yes you can give the merchant the 25gold/diamond and he'll give you the option of 3 legendary cards but rarely is that even useful. Passives/After the boss: So after you get 5 points to spend on stuff, such as exile a card from your deck, deposit money to your end game bank account, obtain a passive (3 random choices, you pick what one you want). Healing your character to max health. Oh and after that you'll an option to leave the dungeon or to continue your journey. Overall this mechanic wasn't terrible and yes you should deposit more money into the bank but doing so costs 2 points, and hey you want to get rid of those useless or harmful cards tooo bad deposit money for unlocks. Again I'll just say I was frustrated with this game majority of the time, but I enjoyed it at times. Just a few changes to the balancing and the end game currency, I think it could've been a super good game.
