Lost Words: Beyond the Page is an emotional story with an enjoyable wrapper of art, music, and gameplay that lasts about three or four hours. Turn back if you want an immense challenge or brain-wrinkling puzzles, but if you’re looking to take in a well-written story where you move a character around and occasionally solve some clever but basic word puzzles, this is a great game to experience.

I did NOT expect this game to hit me as hard in the feels as it did! It's been a while since a game made me cry! The story is in a way simple and childlike, but you are literally playing the story of a child. A story about her and ger relationship with her lovely Gran, and how she deals when a harsh reality strikes. I've never had the opportunity to have this close of a relationship with my grandparents, and remember it, but it made me incredibly emotional to play this story, written through the big thoughts of a child The gameplay is simple but really creative! The game is in no way challenging or difficult, but this is way more about the story than the gameplay. It might even fit very well for children! (darker themes should not be withheld from children)

Lost Words: Beyond the Page is an absolute incredible game. I LOVED the characters, their design, the design of the world. The way the devs handled certain topics, how real the emotions were, how deep we were able to feel. It showed the path of deep sadness to new hope and new beginnings in such a beautiful and breathtaking way - I can absolutely recommend it!

I was very reluctant to buy this game at first. It's a platformer, and I hate platformers. It's shorter than I would normally like. But it was on a good sale and a friend loved it, so I decided to go for it. And I'm glad I did! The platforming in this game is very easy. Even easier than the puzzles. And the puzzles aren't hard. They are both just a vehicle to serve the Story. Or rather, two stories, one inside the other. The first one is the diary of a girl named Izzy, where the words themselves serve as the platforms to walk on. The other is the tale she writes, in which the heroine uses word magic to remove the obstacles on her path. At first, I was almost puzzled - "What am I doing, playing a kids' game at my age?" But at the start of the third chapter, something happens in Izzy's life, that completely changes Everything. Including my opinion of Lost Words... Anyone who has ever had a similar experience, can vouch that the description of the evolving emotional state of both protagonists (those of the "inner" and "outer" stories), is Entirely accurate. You might want to have a box of tissues handy. I was thinking about how to describe Lost Words: Beyond the Page, but I'm lost for words... Actually, there is one word I have to describe it - Masterpiece.
