Love Sweet Garnish is a cute romance visual novel, centered around Asaki who is moving to her grandma because his parents and sister have gone abroad for his father's work and he doesn't want to leave Japan. As such, he decided to help in the cafe where he used to hang out as a kid. But upon his arrival, he didn't meet his grandma but Chisato, who was the one making pastries for the cafe. She tells Asaki the news of his grandma being hurt and having to stay in the hospital to have some rehabilitation training and the cafe being closed. After he saw the state of the cafe, it was not a secret that it needed to be renovated, being quite used here and there. Thanks to the family and Chisato's connection though, the renovation wasn't much of a burden. Shortly after, the cafe opens with 2 cute girls, Chire and Rira, previously quite shy are now tending as dressed waitresses inside the cafe, Chisato is back in the kitchen and Asaki helping wherever is needed. Thanks to these 2 girls we have some really cute moments that brought out the art style even more which is marvelous. To top it off, both of them seem to be quite invested in the cafe, participating actively in creating new recipes and desserts with Chisato. Character sprites show a good number of expressions and a few of them funny, they are all fully voiced except the protagonist which we do play. The novel proposes a CG gallery and a music list. An additional NSFW patch is also proposed in the Steam store with separate stories for both Chire and Rira. Overall I found myself really loving this visual novel, with beautiful artwork and CGs, good music titles, and a really lovely romance story and is also quite easy to read! I really recommend it further for every visual novel amateur!

Love's Sweet Garnish is a short, simple, and cute moege about running gram grams old cafe because there needs to be some sacrifice for the MC's rise to glory. The premise and characters can be summarized as simplistic, but I think that is perfectly fine as I read this for some warm, happy, and positive vibes. I think the story did a good job making the antagonists annoying lil lemon suckers that add to the stories plot to bring the player closer to the girls. The art direction, sound track, and voice acting are all great and have an overall bright and cheery aesthetic. For how short this novel felt I think it is well worth the price even if you plan to get the second in the series. It was a nice, simple, and fun read for me so I can totes recommend it. Id recommend it higher if there was more Chisato screen time, but thats why side characters are the best, because the sweetest fruits are the ones you dont get.
