Lots of "obscure" questions, esp with the anime and video games trivia questions, which I don't mind because Majotori gives me new anime to watch and more obscure video games to play if I screenshot the question to look it up later. Also HELL YEAH for myself getting the questions right for the Blackwell games because I beat all 5 of those games on Steam. Majotori gives you "what will happen" scenarios where good things happen if you get more trivia Q's right and bad things happen the less Q's you get right. From scenarios where you control saving people in a burning building to controlling if a person lands a job or not. This game is VERY ADDICTIVE, and that comes from me, a turn-based JRPG gamer that plays obscure video games that are not very addicting at all. I wasn't able to stop playing once I picked up the game until I finished it. It takes about 1 hour to finish and is a very short game, but it's a cheap game and like I said, it can help you find other games to try and other anime to watch, so there's more value in this game than just being "another trivia game".

Majotori caught me completely off guard — I went in expecting a bland trivia game and came out having genuinely cared about whether some fictional guy got his YouTube career or ended up dead because I blanked on an anime question. The core loop is clever: answer 10 questions, then watch a roulette wheel decide the fate of a character whose story you've been following, which means even a wrong answer carries real narrative weight. The stories are short but punchy, occasionally dark, and some of them connect to each other in ways that made me want to replay just to see what I'd missed. Fair warning though — if you're not into anime, brace yourself, because even setting that category to 'infrequent' doesn't fully tame it. If you can live with that quirk, this is a surprisingly charming little game that's especially fun to play with someone else on the couch.

TL;DR: a fun and short game to test you and your friends knowledge on trivial things. The game itself has a very simple formula: solve a trivia, pray Lariat doesn't jinx you, and see how the characters end up. But to me personally, this game speaks to me on a whole another level. I first found this game during my high school years and I was, at the time, a part of the school's choir. I hadn't consumed a lot of media back then so every time we had a break from practice, I would whip out this game on my phone and ask help from my friends to get the perfect ending. We all had a wonderful time playing it. Thank you for giving us those fun memories.

Majotori is a meta-narrative party game where you answer trivia questions in order to change the fate of various characters. The ending takes the self-awareness of the plot to a whole new level. I had fun with this game. The stories can often take a dark turn when you answer wrong, but I also tanked at least one round because I believed the character was potentially better off without having that specific wish granted. Each wish takes several rounds of trivia to power up, and the result is drawn randomly from your provided pool of successes and failures, so only a clean sweep or a total run of failures guarantees the character's fate. This is single-player, but works nicely with a group of friends or Twitch chat shouting answers. The game is queer-friendly with some characters having pronouns different from their base appearance.
