A very high recommendation. The game itself is classical mangement sim. Nothing very complex, but perfectly serviceable. You start with very simple rules and new ones get added as you progress, so you don't even realise how complex it has become by the time you reach the end. The true reason I recommend Max Gentlemen Sexy Business! is the writing. I don't often laugh while playing game. I'm the kind of person who rolls their eyes in front of attempts at humor. Well, Max Gentlemen Sexy Business! made me laugh out loud on numerous occasions. Everything happens in a completely caricatural victorian London, with very rich people thinking very highly of themselves, having incredible adventures worthy of novels. It's so over the top I couldn't stop giggling from start to finish. Now, to address the elephant in the room. Yes, there is sex in this game. You certainly shouldn't buy it for the porn, because you'll spend far more time managing your financial empire, but it can factor in your decision to play or not. There are a few nude pictures, but the sex mostly happens through text. And I must say, not only is it very well written, but they successfuly kept the humor during the sex scenes without it derailing anything. I have no idea how they succeeded there, but they did. There are 14 (14!) characters you can romance (mainly through mini-games). 7 men, 7 women. I believe it's the only explicit game I could find where you have men and women to romance. That deserves a star just for the fact. But don't worry, for each of those 14 characters, you can set the level of naughtiness (full nudity, a bit of sexyness, nothing at all), which means that each one of them can either become a great friend or a lover. You choose. You could even decide there will be nothing steamy at all.
this game has it all. management sim, hilarious dialogue, complete buffoonery, not a serious moment in sight. and its super sex positive and hammers consent into every interaction without really awkward rejection dialogues whenever you reject an advance for literally anything, sinterklaas if you say no to a hug will literally be like oh no problem at all and if u want one later let me know and its like that for like everything. extremely customizable in your relationship types with everyone. and im wildly impressed by all the branching choices you can make in dialogue and how they actually affect dialogue for like the entire scene/interaction, even when there are several choices to make. its amazing
Absolutely a stunner of a game. I'm a purveyor of Good Sexy Games, and let me tell you, this game falls into a overlooked overlap between funny games, sex-positive games, and sexy games. It's extremely difficult to do what this game does, managing to be both sexy, funny and engaging. Hell, I played this more hours than OMORI, and that should tell you something. I'm looking forward to the next installment!
