ENGLISH & SPANISH REVIEW ENGLISH REVIEW "Minimalism" is a game where you play as a box that has to navigate different kinds of obstacles to reach a magical portal at the end of the game that will return you to the real world, where you'll get all your achievements written in Japanese Hiragana characters to display on your profile. The game is extremely basic, but don't let its simple design fool you. Many challenges await you in there; one of the first is learning how your character's square body reacts to holding down keys for a certain amount of time, its exquisite hitbox, how it interacts with its environment and traps—which are very diverse, ranging from static spikes, vertically moving spikes, spinning spikes placed on a small platform you have to cross, spikes that drop out of nowhere (FCK!), and arrows too. If you're doing this for the Hiragana achievements, which is why almost all of us bought this sub-$1 game, I must warn you that this isn't a game where you just click "Next" and they hand them to you. No, here you'll have to earn your Japanese letters with grit and hard work. They will be suspended in the air, eager for you to grab them, protected by a stern triangle-shaped guard. Therefore, it's a difficult game where you'll need to arm yourself with patience and perseverance, but it's totally worth it. In short, if you want easy achievements, don't play this game. But if you truly have the willpower and determination to get them, give it a try—you won't regret it. I hope the developer cooks up a version 2 with all the characters from this game, but now in Katakana. And why not? It would also be nice if they made a version 3 with hundreds or thousands of Kanji, but for now, getting achievements with Katakana characters is what interests us the most, those of us who love the Japanese language. 10/10 RESEÑA EN ESPAÑOL Minimalism es un juego donde eres una caja que tiene que sortear diferente clases de obstáculos para llegar a un portal mágico que al final del juego te devolverá al mundo real, donde tendrás todos tus logros con caracteres japoneses en hiragana para poner en tu perfil. El juego es sumamente básico, pero que no te engañe su diseño simple. Ahí adentro te esperan muchos desafíos, uno de los primeros es aprender como reacciona el cuerpo cuadrado de tu personaje al presionar las teclas durante cierto tiempo, su hitbox exquisito, como interactúa con su entorno y con las trampas, las que son muy variadas, hay desde púas estáticas, púas que se mueven verticalmente, púas giratorias puestas en una plataforma pequeña donde tienes que pasar y púas que caen de la nada (LPM), también flechas. Si lo vas a hacer por los logros de las letras hiragana, que es el motivo por el que casi todos compramos este juego de menos de 1 USD, te debo advertir que no es un juego donde presiones siguiente y te los dan. No, aquí tú tendrás que ganarte con garra y trabajo duro tus letras japonesas, que estarán suspendidas en el aire deseosas de que las agarres, protegidas por un guardian severo con forma de triangulo. Por lo tanto, es un juego difícil donde tendrás que armarte de paciencia y perseverancia, pero lo vale totalmente. En resumen, si quieres adquirir logros de forma fácil no juegues este juego, pero si realmente tienes la voluntad y determinación de conseguirlos, pues dale una prueba, no te arrepentirás. Espero que el desarrollador cocine la versión 2, con todas los caracteres de este juego pero ahora en Katakana, y por qué no, sería bonito que también haga una versión 3 con cientos o miles de Kanji, pero por ahora obtener logros con caracteres Katakana es lo que nos más nos interesa a los que nos gusta el idioma japonés. 10/10
Horrible hitboxes and movement, I originally wanted to give this game a negative review but honestly I can't do it, some levels were so incredibly horrible I just wanted to end it all but I pushed through and hearing that achievement notification after each level felt so incredibly rewarding that i'm still riding on that high almot a day after, F*CK this game but I recommend it if you like to torture yourself for no reason.
