Minishoot’ Adventures is a short but thoroughly enjoyable journey through a compact, fully realized world. Clocking in at around 8–10 hours, it never overstays its welcome and feels complete from start to finish. While it’s technically a bullet hell, it’s designed in a way that accommodates players of all skill levels, making it approachable without sacrificing challenge. One of the game’s biggest strengths is how naturally everything comes together. No guides are needed for achievements or secrets, exploration and progression feel intuitive, as if the game gently nudges you in the right direction without ever holding your hand. It’s clear the developer put a lot of thought into every system and encounter. The gameplay is fluid and highly responsive, and when you take a hit, it never feels unfair or cheap, just an honest reminder that you misplayed. Minishoot’ Adventures is a confident, well-crafted experience that knows exactly what it wants to be, and executes on that vision exceptionally well.

One of the smoothest and most polished games I’ve played in a long while. Not only a blast to play, but feels incredibly fluid. Very impressive especially being made by only 2 people.

I've never really been interested in twin-stick shooters / bullet-hell games, but I got this because it was mentioned in a Metroidvania tier list. And a Metroidvania it is, a GREAT one actually. You get everything you expect from the MV formula here: - Open world with non-linear progression - rewarding exploration with a lot of secrets (and purchasable upgrades to show whether you've found everything) - great combat and boss fights - ability unlocks and various other purchasable upgrades After having played dozens of 2D-sidescrolling platformer MVs, this was a refreshing change. In fact, the combat here was more interesting and fun than what you get in 2D platformers. The enemies have diverse attack patterns which require tactical movement, and especially the boss fights were all incredibly fun. I played on the hardest difficulty ("advanced" I think it's called), and it was a great, perfectly balanced experience. It was challenging but not frustratingly hard, and I was motivated to find all secrets and upgrades until the end. I have 100%-ed the main game in 12 hours, but there is bonus challenges that I still haven't finished yet. Technically the game is very well made. It runs smooth, looks and sounds very nice, and there's much attention to detail. Controls are spot on. UI is great too. I did have 2 occasions where the game froze though, but I didn't lose progress. Overall I am blown away that just two dudes could make this game. I hope they make a sequel. 10/10 game!

I played on a Steam Deck primarily. All options were set to their highest level. I will update this review if I continue to play and have more to add and will leave comments on. PROS: - The exploration in the game is amazing and was a feast for someone like me. There were always new things to see or do that you actually wanted to see and do. Finding secrets always took a little bit, but was achievable and worthwhile. - The music was completely appropriate and fit the world. It was nothing I'd listen to outside the game though. - It ran very well most of the time I played it with a very small exception of when there was a frame or two dropped when there were a billion things on screen at once. - Achievements & cards! - Zero noticeable bugs experienced in my entire playtime. - One of those games that made me want to come back consistently for all aspects of it. - It felt like if Link To The Past-Era Zelda was a twin-stick shooter that respected your time. The creators want you to have fun and it shows. CONS: - I want more of it and there isn't any more. Hopefully a sequel? - The story isn't much to speak of. It exists, but it's kind of perfunctory. DID YOU FINISH THE GAME?: Yup! CONCLUSION: Loved it. There was a massive amount of variety and it felt like I was constantly being pulled forward in a way I really enjoyed.

It's like a simplified Zelda game mixed with a twin-stick shooter. Thankfully, the movement is much faster than in a Zelda game, and defeating enemies in the field or just scooting past them is easier. There are some challenging bits, though the ability to rearrange your upgrade points at will can allow you to spec out to be better in combat or to focus on movement if you need the extra boost. The boss fights aren't all that difficult once you learn their patterns, so they end up being tests of your endurance more than anything. The music didn't stand out all that much, but the general sound effects of shooting enemies and other objects are pretty satisfying. The visuals are fairly simplistic but the game looks good, in my opinion. The different over-world areas look distinct enough. Overall, it's definitely an enjoyable experience and I'm happy they decided to go with this somewhat unusual pairing of genres.
