I'm torn on Minit. On the one hand I remember enjoying the game (I must have done, I 100%'ed it) but I think I'd only recommend it if you're looking for something you can do in one session. Both for the obvious reason, but also because I am not entirely certain I remember what happened from session to session when I played. I remember having fun and enjoying it, but it passed by so quickly (which is partially the point I suppose) that I don't remember why.
100% Minit on 4/10/2018. You have been cursed to only live for a single minute (get it?). This game plays out in 1 minute increments, where each 1 minute life gives you the opportunity to unlock new items, shortcuts, and knowledge that you get to keep throughout all future lives. Very enjoyable with a few achievements that require you to play through the game in unique ways in order to get them. Can you beat the game in the 1 minute that you have?
A fun experiment with a one-minute time gameloop. Some puzzles are limited by time and others by complexity, a few by both. It's definitely a nice game to enjoy on a rainy day, but I don't feel any immediate rush in replaying or speedrunning it as hoped and suggested by the authors. On the other hand, some people will inevitably seek to do speedrun it, so it's a nice inclusion to have timing support natively.
Leaving a review of this game should only take about one Minit. At its core Minit is a short adventure game with gimmick being that you "die" every 60 seconds, requiring you to make the most of the time you have. You explore areas, occasionally swing a sword to kill things, and solve puzzles in order to progress. The adventure is overall very short (I'd wager a playthrough would take about 2-3 hours, with an extra hour added if you want to collect everything) but it makes good use of its gimmick when it comes to puzzles. And trying to find everything for 100% can be a good brain teaser if you're not thorough and don't use a guide. The game even has a hard mode that has some noticeable changes, even in terms of puzzles. My only real gripe is about a few areas that are darkly lit that hold secrets. Always felt annoying trying to find them with the retro black and white graphics and minimal "light" you use in them. That and one specific optional puzzle whose solution feels a bit too cryptic, even with the hint you are given. Overall, for a game you can beat pretty quickly I think Minit makes the most of the time it asks of you. It won't blow you away but you might find fun if you're someone who enjoys a small game with some decent puzzles.
