MISTERY, developed and published by Game Frontier, is a multiplayer survival horror experience that attempts to fuse cooperative gameplay with social deduction, placing equal emphasis on teamwork and paranoia. Set within a fog-choked, decaying facility, the game challenges players not only to survive external threats but also to question the intentions of those fighting alongside them. Its core identity revolves around uncertainty, where trust is fragile, danger is constant, and the greatest threat may not always come from the monsters lurking in the mist. The basic gameplay loop is structured around a day-and-night cycle that dictates the pace and tension of each match. During daylight, players explore the environment in search of resources such as batteries, tools, and components needed to prepare for the coming night. Exploration is deliberately stressful, as visibility is limited by thick fog and the environment itself feels unstable and hostile. Every decision to wander farther from the group carries risk, especially knowing that preparation during the day directly determines survivability once darkness falls. Nighttime is when MISTERY fully leans into survival horror. Hostile entities emerge from the mist and relentlessly assault the group, forcing players to rely on light sources, weapons, and defensive setups to hold them back. These encounters are often chaotic, testing not only reflexes but also coordination and resource management. Batteries become precious, positioning matters, and mistakes can quickly spiral into total collapse. The pressure created during these moments is one of the game’s strongest elements, as it reinforces the need for cooperation even while suspicion quietly grows. The social deduction aspect is where MISTERY distinguishes itself from standard cooperative horror games. Hidden among the group are alternates—players who have been corrupted and secretly work against the team. These individuals may appear helpful at first, but their true nature eventually reveals itself, often at the worst possible moment. This mechanic introduces a psychological layer to every interaction, as players must constantly evaluate behavior, communication, and timing. A poorly timed mistake or an unexplained absence can quickly spark accusations, leading to mistrust and fractured teamwork. Class-based roles add another layer of structure and strategy. Each character archetype offers a specific utility that can influence the outcome of a match, whether through combat effectiveness, support abilities, or resource efficiency. Team composition matters, and success often depends on leveraging each role effectively rather than relying on raw firepower alone. This encourages communication and planning, reinforcing the cooperative foundation even as social tension simmers beneath the surface. The environment itself is more than just a backdrop. Functional locations such as control rooms, cameras, safes, and electrical systems offer tactical advantages and opportunities for surveillance or defense. Randomized events and encounters help keep matches from feeling overly predictable, adding variety and unpredictability to exploration. However, while the setting is atmospheric and unsettling, the deeper lore behind the mist and the facility remains relatively vague, leaving much of the world’s story implied rather than explicitly explored. Despite its strong concept, MISTERY struggles with execution in several areas. Technical issues such as performance drops, clunky controls, and occasional instability can disrupt immersion, particularly during high-stress moments when responsiveness matters most. Localization and presentation also show rough edges, with dialogue and text sometimes lacking the polish needed to fully convey tension or emotional weight. These issues can undermine the atmosphere the game works so hard to establish. Another challenge lies in its reliance on a healthy multiplayer population. MISTERY’s design shines brightest with a full group of players, where social deduction and group dynamics can fully unfold. When player counts are low or matchmaking struggles to fill lobbies, the experience can feel diluted, as smaller groups reduce both the tension and unpredictability that define the game’s identity. This makes the experience highly dependent on timing, region, and community activity. Overall, MISTERY is a game driven by a compelling idea rather than flawless execution. Its blend of cooperative survival and hidden betrayal creates moments of genuine tension, where fear stems as much from human behavior as from supernatural threats. While technical shortcomings and underdeveloped narrative elements hold it back from reaching its full potential, the foundation is strong and memorable. For players who enjoy social deduction, atmospheric horror, and unpredictable multiplayer experiences—especially when played with friends—MISTERY offers a uniquely stressful and engaging journey into distrust, survival, and uncertainty. This is a decent game. I haven't put in enough time to see if the survivors or traitors are stronger, but from what I played, I enjoyed it. I like the idea of crafting supplies and working together with others to get the batteries back, while the traitors try to stop them. The map that has everyone working together with only 3 exits was kinda cool, but being unable to interrupt those players escaping made it a bit rough. I'd also say the 10 minutes wasn't enough time to both do the objective and get mutations. Overall it's pretty good

I found this game by complete accident and it looked really cool so me and my friend tried it out and I have a had an absolute blast playing this game. The 4 player coop mode is juts so much fun. Yes the game can be a little janky and the audio dialog isn't great but everything else about it is fantastic. I just wish their were more players to play the big 9 player mode with as this games player base is essentially dead on release. I hope this game gets some much needed updates and more traction cause i would love to see this game more populated.
