This game has huge potential. But I think I start with the cons first so you know what needs improvement. Cons: The game runs pretty poorly (RTX 4070, i7 12700k, 32 GB) It is playable but you feel in many storm rich/complex storm systems scenarios the frames drop in just playable but choppy rates. To be fair, I play on max settings 1440p but DLSS ultra performance. Visuals are not on a level where it should impact your performance, but that's due to the clouds, so they really need improvements. Including visual improvements, so the world looks immersive. Destruction and environment is at best meh. The map is big but will get repetitive and feels very devoid of life. Towns rarely get hit, so most tornadoes don't convey the danger and urgency. Towns are very small, so an otherwise devastating tornado scenario (Moore type scenarios) will lose the threatening nature. Maybe having 4 different map types in the future might be interesting. Progression is still in its early stages and is mainly grinding. Character customization seems more of a placeholder and I really hope it is. Also, the tornadoes themselves really need improvements and more variations to look unique to each scenario. Sound design is basic so yes, needs improvements too Pros: Scenarios are based on real data. They feel real and follow life cycles like you'd expect. Cloud structures are realistic so spotting features to tell whether or not a cell is gonna produce is possible. Radar is pretty accurate to real radar. Featuring relative velocities and reflectivity helps in making informed decisions, track storms, and see warnings. The advanced features are nice to have (tho forecast and soundings would help). The chaser rigs you can create or buy are good, even with the starter vehicles you'll be able to keep up with storms. Using real world chaser tactics and knowledge can really make or break a chase. Conclusion: The game is on a good track. It has a long way to go but is already fun. Improving the map, performance, visuals, sounds, and implementing more variety, breathing more life into the world will make Outbrk the best chaser sim/game by far. I personally would enjoy scenarios in different locations, not just tracking storms but dealing with the aftermath. A career mode maybe? Hurricanes, blizzards, and other chaser worthy severe weather could add to a wide mix of chases. There is so much potential to not just make it a casual chaser thing but also have professional chaser careers for weather services and news. Be in difficult situations where towns get hit. Do you stay and help or move on? It can help shed a light onto the reality of storm chasing. Day and nigh, maybe whole day scenarios (long chase and casual chase options?) could spice it up. Should you buy it? Yes. But maybe wait on a sale.

I get the feeling a lot of the 'not-recommended' reviews are missing something very important: This is an extremely good game, both at its premise and its ambition. It is also an early access version of what could, and likely will, become the definitive storm chasing simulator of our time. I think most of the negative reviews may lack an understanding and appreciation of just what this game really is. It is, by far, the most realistic storm chasing simulator out there. Hands down. What this relatively small group of developers have done thus far is nothing short of amazing. Their vision is ambitious and the work they've put into it, and continue to put into it, is incredible - to say the very least. We have a huge open world map that simulates actual-world weather systems through scenarios that, while not procedurialy generated, are numerous enough that the feeling is there. Could one 'memorize' every single scenario and 'game' the system to achieve the best intercepts? Theoretically, yes. However, guess what? You're still playing the game of a storm chaser! If someone were to ask me if this game was worth purchasing now? I'd say yes. At first glance, it seems 'simple'. This is a game that is easy to learn but can be difficult to master. There's something here for everyone, and for everyone there remains the crux of what will keep you playing - The Chase. Utilizing the in-game systems and information to watch the scenario unfold and accurately predict where and when a supercell and subsequent tornado(s) will form is incredibly satisfying. What's more, being in the right place at the right time to intercept, document and report on the event while scrambling to keep yourself safe is nothing short of thrilling. You'll never forget your first chase. And when others join you for the journey, you become a part of something even greater. You start to recognize names, you talk with players and you work together to create epic tales of adventure on the great plains that will have you taking screenshot after screenshot after screenshot and relishing the after-action report of your contributions, relieved that you survived and already hungry for the next chase. If you died along the way, you take the lessons learned and push on. This is what the game is. It's not some AAA title that is more interested in forming a base for microtransactions to drain your wallet. These folks have painstakingly recreated the stage for some of the greatest gaming experiences you'll ever have. They're working on a lot. This is only version 0.2. They're telling us what's to come and working to optimize the game, allow for smaller parties to chase together with your friends. There's more scenarios to come. More vehicles and ways to spend your hard-earned in-game currency. Get the game. Watch the tutorial video. Jump in and keep an eye on the sky. This is a journey worth taking.

This game is really addicting and fun. If you like storm chasing, or tornadoes in general, this game is perfect. Very realistic gameplay, however graphics not so much. Over all, this game is really good, and for anyone wondering, the total GB you need is 44 GB.
