This is the cutest, most adorable management game ever. Made for art history nerds. As a management game, it is quite robust: the mechanics are intuitive and very easy to understand, but the game is still pretty hard even for seasoned management game lovers. The little art history jokes are amazing: even though it is a very small game, I keep finding stuff that make me laugh. For example, the city news! They give some historical context but the way they're written is so simple and silly, I absolutely love them. This is one of my favourite games. I wish there were more to it, like scenarios, more characters, etc. Would also be nice if there were a way to win the game (as is, if I am not mistaken, it just keeps on going...). It is very expandable, and it could become one of the best management games out there with just a little bit of love!

I wonder if I have more play time in this game than anyone else in the world (apart from the creator of course). It has an addictive game loop. It is a very simple game; it feels like it could have been much more! but that’s kind of what I like about it. It’s easy to understand how it works under the hood, it’s easy to imagine all the mechanics that make it what it is. Every time I play it, I think about the game making process…

I bought this game for 4 euros and I think it's worth of 1-2 hours this game has to offer. However I feel sad for the dev and the players, since a lot of potential has been missed. PROS + The game is beautiful + small details such as characters getting older + even generated characters look personal + gameplay is easy to get into, no tutorial needed + tons of references for western art history geeks + The soundtrack feels fresh + gives a lot of space for your imagination "what are my artists like" + you can choose to be homosexual, with risk involved CONS - The game has no real ending - no perks or achiements for max leveling your artists - there are no real risks, the worst thing is you could have some debt. - sounds are getting annoying after few hours. - there are no any perks for being gay, so the risk is for nothing - the game pushes you to level male artists, since there are like 1 talented female of 50 talented males. ( I get that there sould be a lot less female artists, but even the talented ones are a lot less talented unless you start with a female artist) - the dev has abandoned the game for unknown reason, which is a real pity. - the game has no workshops, so no community involved either. I would really like to see more of this kind of gameplay, but at this state the game is not worth of the full price.

This is a good little game. Much improved over the free version. As others have noted, the game is not that deep and gets old after a while. I wish they would patch or x-pack some late game content. Still, the soundtrack and charm has kept me coming back. I wish they would add SteamCloud support. It runs great on my old work PC and work laptop (or just about any computer).

Pretty fun little game, and I do mean little. There is enough content for a few hours of very enjoyable gameplay, as you listen to the sounds track and push and pull your little art slaves around you get a lot of satisfaction as you watch your Florins grow and you build up and customize your little painters guild. There are a couple of different maps that add minor bonuses to certian aspects of the game, increased florins from sales for example. There are a few random events in game that add aspects of uncertainy; illnesses can spread, homosexual guild members might be attacked or, you might be asked to pay of a gambling debt or two. These random events can be fairly impactful during the beginning of the game, but once you have a larger guild the minor events become negligible, as you'll have enough florins and people to quickly hire and retrain new master artists. However, after you've added your third/forth building and have 100+ prestige the game doesn't offer much else, at 100 prestige it seems you've hit the max level of rich customers and going over that is just to provide a buffer from prestige loss if you have all your artists out on a larger project. All in all its a neat little casual game. I'd wish there was a bit more content. But I'm overall happy with the price and the amount of gameplay that comes with it.
