Sometimes, All You Need Is a Game That Makes You Happy The first game is one of my most played games on Steam, and I've spent countless hours building zoos and creating habitats. There's something special about a game that makes you forget about the world for a while and just be happy doing what you love. These are the games that remind me why I fell in love with gaming in the first place, and honestly, there's nothing quite like that feeling. Planet Zoo 2 builds on that foundation with even more ways to bring your dream zoo to life. The expanded animal roster, aquatic exhibits, aviaries, and new building possibilities give you even more creative freedom, while the deeper focus on animal welfare and conservation makes managing your zoo feel rewarding beyond just keeping guests happy. The best part is that you can approach everything at your own pace. Whether you want to create a massive, meticulously designed wildlife park or spend an entire evening perfecting a single habitat, there's no wrong way to play. Performance has been great for me so far. The game runs smoothly, and it's clear that a lot of work has gone into optimizing it for modern hardware. No major issues on my end, which makes spending hours building my dream zoo that much better. For me, games like this are a reminder of why I fell in love with gaming in the first place. Not everything needs to be competitive, stressful, or packed with action. Sometimes, you just want to build something beautiful, watch it come to life, and lose yourself in your own little world. If you loved the original Planet Zoo, this sequel has so much potential to keep you coming back for hundreds of hours all over again. Worth Buying at Full Price!!! I didn't realise so many bugs were included in the animal roster for this game. Honestly I really like and recommend this game, however these bugs need to be sorted out because its kind of shocking...

TL;DR check how spec requirements compare to your computer but I've yet to have a crash or a game-breaking bug like others, a good starting bunch of animals, amazing updates to building and pathing and terraforming, beautiful visually I'm not sure why I haven't been experiencing a lot of the turmoil people seem to be having with this game so far. I've run into a few bugs, but nothing that a quick trip to the menu and back doesn't fix. Though if you're thinking about getting this game, probably best to look at reviews for specs similar to yours. For me, no problems so far. Like I wouldn't even call this a buggy game from my experience, it's about average. And they are already releasing updates! Same for missing quality of life, like exhibit management, which they've talked about implementing. Shoulda been there from the start, but good that we're getting it. As for content, I do think it's hard going from PZ1 where we've had years of DLC and addons to a base game again, but I don't think it's as barren as people are acting like. I am not a fan of DLC models like Sims or Frontier do, but I knew what I was getting going into PZ2, and that is the DLC packs of new animals over time. I for one think the base amount of animals are great. The only area I find lacking for base game specifically is aquatic mammals. But considering they had to split things up between the new aquatic and avian groups, I like our base game animals. The main thing that is blowing me away with this game is the new building and pathing. It's absolutely fantastic. Once you learn the mesh system for the pathing, there is so much more you can do. It's so much easier to make amazing plazas, bridges, inclines, literally anything. Terrain tools are fantastic. Still amazed that we can mess with terrain without removing water, what a blessing. And with inversion and scaling, there's so much more I can do with building, which is my favorite part of the game. Lastly it's just a gorgeous game. The opening to career mode was fantastic, I can't believe how amazing these animals look.

I will not leave a negative review but this game is unfinished, and unpolished. 1. Animals you sell, keep popping up back in your animal inventory. Even when you restart a game, give it a couple of minutes, the ones you sold 10 minutes ago will re-appear. 2. The exhibits have no population control option, every 7 minutes you have to go through and pick and choose who to sell, Then once you sell, those stick in your inventory until you log. When you have 3 or 4 exhibits it gets redundant. 3. Fish constantly float to top and box themselves up until you get a notice, an animal has been boxed up too long. 4. When you put animals in a release group, say 4 female boars, you go to add last one in, because you have 3 in the release box, you are one shy again !! And your boar will not show up as a suitable for release. 5. The whole thriving thing is poorly thought out. it has depth, but poor concept. 6. the whole open a reservation, and release this type of animal is micromanagement. 7. When you click on an animal or exhibit animal, it doesn't describe the diet (for multi fish situations). The animal "cards" have a lot missing, temperature, diet, you have to dig for its bio. It's watered down. 8. When you click on a habitat, it doesn't explain the ages, it shows you got 4 adults, you have to inspect to find out the ages. There is no age on them, just juvenile, adult, elder, again watered down. When you got 7 animals you need to go through in a habitat, there is no next (cycle) button, you have to exit animal, click on habitat and select one all over again. or the animals individually. ( this wasn't in PZ 1, but this is PZ2, please make it so...) 9. It crashes. The communication with the Frontier server is laggy, buggy. 10. The path making is atrocious. I am getting used to it, but its iffy at most. 11. The animal trade is, or was 98% female animals, I think that's been toned down.

I'm going to preface this by saying that the game does indeed have a lot of bugs at the minute, some are very frustrating and it's absolutely understandable that people have refunded. I've had multiple crashes to desktop myself when attempting to place certain blueprints from the Frontier Workshop (in particular, a fancied up Animal Education item), and a whole aquarium I had to get rid of because the animals would not stop boing/unboxing constantly. That said, the game is fun. I've really been enjoying the career mode and messing around building in sandbox. The pathing tools are so much better than those in PZ1. The terrain tool improvements are fantastic. The animals look so much better. I would perhaps suggest holding off on a purchase if you're on the fence and the bugs deter you. Wait until it's been out longer. But the game Is a lot of fun, if you don't mind the issues.
