Preserve strikes, as far as puzzle games go, a great balance in its risk-reward design. It doesn't punish you too harshly for your mistakes, nor does it forgive you too easily for making them. Its mechanics are (generally) easy to understand, but also complex enough that you'll continue inventing new card arrangements well into the endgame. And above all else, every new highscore milestone you reach and every puzzle you solve feels truly earned. You'll definitely have to put in the work if you want the gold medals, but at no point does that work become frustrating. And all this is accentuated by the game's charming artstyle and an excellent ambient soundtrack. If I have to say something bad about this game, it's that there's limited replay value if you're not gunning for the higher percentiles on the leaderboards. You'll also likely encounter the occassional progress-hampering bug - although the developers have patched most of these out in the months since launch, I still ended up being forced to restart a level more than once. Still though - these are ultimately small blemishes on what has otherwise been some of the most fun I've ever had playing a puzzle game. Plus, it's seriously good value for the asking price.

A fun relaxing game that's part puzzle game part building simulator, for when you just want to relax and catch a breath. The various biomes comes with their own unique challenges, that keeps the game from becoming boring and stale. It's also somewhat of a challenge, trying to find the optimal setup to get the highest score possible. While there might be an online leaderboard, for me the fun is beating my own personal high scores.

Almost similar to Dorfromantik but more about nature and animals, this game is gorgeous. It has a more targetted approach to "winning" and unlocking new environments and stages. Would 10/10 recommend this to anyone who likes similar puzzle and logic games.

26 Nov 2025 Update: Did I mention it has weekly challenges and I do horribly at each and every single one of them. Game is still fun, though it's more of a pop in and play a round, type of game. I like it. :) I really like this game! I've been playing for a while now (a bit over a month). I'm not great at it, but I do okay. I really like the Ocean and Forest (?) locations/options. You can come back to one and try to do better than your previous score/rank. It is a colorful, challenging, relaxing game. Please read other reviews for more perspectives and experiences. Preserve is a great game for winding down at the end of the day. With a delightfully whimsical soundtrack, a gorgeous colour palate and simple mechanics, preserve delivers an experience that is perfect for after a long day when you just want something to end your day on a pleasant note. It's also got more complexity for anyone who wants a bit of a challenge, try aiming for the highest score possible. I've enjoyed this game quite a bit and I'm sure you will too.
