I am considering giving this game a thumbs down, with the game controls like you are on an ice rink with blades coated grease, and even after finishing the game, I still find myself wrestling with the controls just trying to get my battle frame pointing at the direction i want. It's the story though, that really won me over. You can tell how this game very much wear it's inspiration on it's sleeve; this game is like a good Gundam fan-fiction. You get multiple perspective from both sides of the war, while some aren't fully fleshed, I still managed to get attached to the character I play as, and feel for the character motivation. Now were they well written characters, or story? That's debatable honestly, but I can feel the passion and the writer's love for the mecha war genre. But the again, whether you want this game is really depends if you are willing to put up with the control. If you can look past that, then you will be treated with a really decently written Gundam fanfiction from someone who is passionate about that genre.

For this price tag? Yeah, sure. I'd say it's worth it. Paying basically 1 dollar for a game is a pretty funny idea in-general. When it goes on sale, it goes on sale hardcore. The game itself though ehhhh.. Gameplay is okay, but also very shallow, you're just spamming all your cooldowns. There is no customization at all for the campaign. Voice acting, at least the english, is unfortunately rather poor and all over the place. Another review mentioned different microphones - they are right, it is in fact painfully noticable. I attempted to switch to the japanese voiceover out of desperation, only to discover that, for some reason, all the Japanese VA's used noticeably worse quality microphones.. interesting. Again, for 1 dollar? Great, sure. Can't complain, honestly, I got what I paid for. From a "Okay but lets be honest for a moment" perspective.. when I say indie I mean INDIE indie, and not in a good way. Still, I do see that a lot of passion was put into it, and I can respect that. Edit: Played more, felt the need to update. Lots of bizzare design choices in this title. I'm not sure who decided that I needed to suffer a lethal dose of cringe every single time anyone talks in the campaign, but that was a bad call. The control scheme overall is annoying to use. I think this game is sort of a "project wingman appreciation reminder" - I don't consider it fundamentally bad, but there's a lot that I don't view very favorably.

A solid Ace Combat x Armored Core fast paced mecha action game. It's short but an excellent game for the price. If they made a sequel I would play it. The story had potential but it's told a bit sloppily and the voice acting is...well, it's not great.

This is such a anatstic game. I was so legitemately blown away by the frenetic, fast paced and adrenaline pumping action; and enevironments upon which you fight are just absolutely gorgeous and beautiful with just amazing set peices. The real star of the show is how all of this comes into play with music that just makes the combat and story feel epic and amazing. The story is pretty solid, even though Mirai, one of teh two protagonists, is kind of annyoying; but thats the only real downside. You can tell this is an indie project made by people who loved Mecha franchises like Armored Core and Zone of the Enders; and that love shows through in its immaculate and loving presentation. At the price point it's at, it's very reasonable and will blow your expectations away. We need more people playing this game because it's genuinely amazing and not too long either.

Do you like Ace Combat? Do you like Gundam? if you answered yes to either or even BOTH of these then you'll probably like this game. Have fun, pilots.
