It's twice as expensive as it should be. it's like the previous game, balance the life of your fighter as you climb the ranks, filled with pop culture references and some funny moments that probably need a spell check. There's one main branching path, with specific dialogue for each. You can get all achievements in one playthrough. Your character no longer loses experience from skimping out on exercise. Now you have tonus. Tonus is a resource that is like a muscle debt. Stronger moves will require using tonus every round they are equipped in a fight. The effect will stack, and if you don't have enough, you can't use the move. You restore tonus by working out, replacing the exp gain you would have gotten in that move, but it fills pretty quickly. So instead of slowing your strength growth by making you lose exp, you are instead taking your EXP on loan after fighting. Neat idea, I suppose. Each fighting style (STR, AGI, STA) now has about 4 fighting styles associated with it. they cover different opponent options. For example, there is a stamina fighting style called trapper, which provides buffs against dodging opponents. There is also Strategist, against enemies who don't block or dodge(STR), and torturer, an anti-stamina/blocking style. you can swap them out every round, and each fighting style saves the moves you last used on it. So, once I had an anti dodge set up, every time I fought a dodging opponent, I'd slap it on and win. The fourth style, or really the first, Is a generalist style for that stat. you get it before you solidify your path, and it's through working a part time job. (By the way, the noodle guy says he doesn't want you working for the other groups. Ignore that, it's fluff and not to be taken seriously.) I think something gets lost doing that, doesn't feel like you chose a style so much as chose a stat, but it definitely feels more balanced as a result. the final gauntlet/boss gives you ability to reallocate your stats and every move. I stuck with the same stats and fighting styles, just had to tailor them a bit better to fighting the final boss. Don't have much more to say, if you like the concept, play the original first, the game kind of expects you to, and if you like it, pick this up for a tenner.

If you're not familiar with the first [url=https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198112810429/recommended/394310?snr=1_5_9__402]Punch Club game , I highly suggest starting from the beginning. By some definitions I saw in other opinions, the first game was "more fun". I don't completely agree, as one out of three major components of the game, the battle process, is now even better organized and interesting than before, and one more major component, the training and self-evolving, is just as addictive as it was with the first Punch Club. However, the story part takes only one route out of several possibilities of first game aftermath, and of course, it's the weirdest of them all. The story is based on dozens and hundreds post-cultural references to somehow not so funny gags/memes from various action movies/games/books, so it's only natural to keep the pace of making things strange and bizarre. Just like many of us prefer, knowing the popularity of Simpsons, Gravity Falls and other shows alike. But of course, some would prefer a somehow nicer and straight-forward story conception, thus, the story in Punch Club 2 is certainly worse than in the previous game, where we had several paths and actual choices. That said, it's about the same game, as the first Punch Club. It's a good and addicting (though not for all) indie game with mostly static pictures, telling the story of the 'common guy', building himself into the super fighter, in some standard, but somehow weird world, where everything revolves around hand-to-hand battles. Once you're hooked, you'll most likely beat it till the end, it's not a hard game, only a bit tedious in those 'train-eat-rest-work-train-fight' progress cycles. Oh, and one more major point, be sure to buy the game with the DLC Iron Fist! While basically it's just more of the same progression circles, somehow it adds more flavour and good pacing for the main story. Without that part, the game felt a bit slower and dull. In the end, I'd say the mark is the same, 7/10. The game's not too fancy, even in its 'below 5$ on sales' category. But it's made well-enough, its main process is just as mesmerizing (for some players) as 'one more turn' for 4X-strategy fans. Thus, the game is certainly worth its (even not discounted) price. Just remember to start from the first game, then get Punch Club 2 with Iron Fist DLC, and make breaks during gaming sessions, for example, for work, study, and personal development. It's strange, isn't it, to watch your hero do 1,000 pull-ups while you haven't even done one? Peace and goodness to you, people.

Punch Club 2: Fast Forward builds on the foundation of its predecessor by delivering a polished mix of sports management, RPG progression, and narrative-driven gameplay with a fresh coat of modern graphics and streamlined mechanics. Developed by Lazy Bear Games, this sequel refines the core loop of training, fighting, and managing your fighter’s life while introducing new storylines and challenges that keep the experience engaging for both returning fans and newcomers. At its heart, Punch Club 2 offers a compelling simulation of the gritty world of underground fighting, where every choice impacts your path to glory. The gameplay revolves around managing a rising fighter’s daily routine—balancing workouts, job shifts, relationships, and fights. Unlike traditional fighting games, combat itself is presented through automated bouts where your preparation and strategy determine the outcome rather than direct player control. This places greater emphasis on the meta-game of building your character’s stats, skills, and equipment. Players must carefully allocate their time and resources to improve attributes like strength, stamina, and speed while also navigating a variety of side activities that influence both their physical condition and story progression. One of the most engaging aspects of Punch Club 2 is its deep RPG elements, allowing for significant customization and strategic planning. As you progress, you unlock various training options, fighting styles, and skill trees that let you tailor your fighter’s strengths and combat approach. The upgrade system feels meaningful, and the need to balance different attributes creates a satisfying tension between short-term sacrifices and long-term gains. Managing your fighter’s health and morale also adds complexity, ensuring you cannot simply grind endlessly without consequences. Narratively, the game expands on the satirical and often humorous tone established in the first Punch Club. The story branches into multiple paths depending on your choices, involving a cast of colorful characters and rival fighters that enrich the world. The sequel introduces fresh plotlines that explore themes of ambition, loyalty, and the harsh realities of underground fighting circuits. The writing strikes a good balance between lighthearted moments and serious stakes, making your journey feel personal and impactful. Visually, Punch Club 2 adopts a vibrant, comic-book-inspired art style that stands out with its detailed animations and expressive character designs. The environments are richly rendered, from grimy gyms to neon-lit fight arenas, creating an atmospheric backdrop that enhances immersion. The soundtrack complements the game’s mood with energetic and fitting music that drives the pace during training sessions and fights alike. While Punch Club 2 offers a robust and enjoyable experience, some players may find the management aspects occasionally repetitive, especially during longer play sessions. The automated combat, while strategically interesting, might leave those looking for more hands-on fighting somewhat unsatisfied. However, the game’s variety in activities and narrative paths largely offsets this, keeping gameplay fresh and rewarding. Overall, Punch Club 2: Fast Forward succeeds as a worthy sequel that refines and expands on the original’s unique blend of management and RPG mechanics. Its engaging character progression, compelling storylines, and distinctive art style create a memorable experience for fans of sports simulation and narrative-driven games. Whether you’re honing your fighter’s skills or navigating the challenges of underground tournaments, the game offers a satisfying and immersive journey into the world of fighting and ambition. I played the first game some years ago. The publisher hosted a 'Twitch Plays' event to promote the game, giving keys each time the chat won a fight. I was fast enough to take one of those keys, play the game, and then finish it with all the achievements by playing 2-3 runs. I really enjoy it, so this time I decided to pay for the sequel. Punch Club 2 is very similar to its predecessor, since it has the same premise. You control the main character's time and resources, make it train, win money, and fight, but during fights, you will only decide their movements and combat style; the fight is RNG-based. The core gameplay has been expanded, the fights require a bit more of "analyze the opponent and choose the best strategy" compared to the first game, since there are more techniques and path available, both for you to experiment and for your opponents to kick your ass (since sometimes they will use special combat styles). "Special movements" now require "muscle tones" that can be regained by training a bit. The number of things to do has increased. Aside from training and doing jobs to gain money, there are a lot of side quests you can do to gain some extra perks. The tone of the game has more comedy than the first one, and a lot more dialogue. It has even more references to old-school pop culture (seriously, it has A LOT). The art style has been completely improved, looks awesome. The game obviously is not perfect, tho. Due to the game is larger than the first one, sometimes there will be these "grind" moments where you have already finished a good amount of side quests, and the only thing you can do is train and earn money. In other words, the progress can feel slow. In this game, two jobs have a certain schedule, and to progress on them, you need to work when is the day to do it so. It can feel like a chore since maybe you will prefer to train or do something else. The music of this one doesn't feel catchy and memorable :c, at least to me, if I am capable of remembering it is because I heard it a lot more than because I couldn't get it out of my head. I don't think this sequel is more fun than the first game. Is hard to explain, the first game feels more compact and simple in all aspects, but that avoids the issue of feeling that you are progressing too slowly. I replayed the first one happily, it was shorter and fun, but I don't feel to replay this one, and maybe that was devs intentionally thought since the progress (including sidequest) is very complete, if you played well (took your time in each chapter), there is not a necessity of play it again. I have 30 hours in both games, so I guess this is the time it took to beat the games in a completionist way. My final recommendation is: play the first game, if you want more, come to this one. About the DLC, is good but grindy; it doesn't feel like a side story like the DLC of the first game. It gives you extra food for free, so it can help you to be less stressed when you lack money.

Punch Club 2 is a wild ride of punches, neon lights, and cyberpunk chaos, but honestly, I enjoyed the original more. It’s fun at first—train, fight, rise—but after a while, it’s just rinse and repeat. Still, I’d punch my way through it again for nostalgia’s sake. 🥊💥 Follow my curator page for more chaotic fights, pixelated punches, and all the neon you can handle! 🥊💥✨ https://store.steampowered.com/curator/42602807-Osiris-Reviews/
