I wish I could give a neutral review. This game is amazing and brings back fond memories of the 8-bit console gaming times. The premise is also quite charming. HOWEVER or UNLESS You want to complete all the achievements. Because not only CAN you receive DUPLICATE rewards, YOU WILL, and some have specific conditions to unlock. The level of grinding needed is insane, and for no reason - this is a single player game! To summarize, if you do not care about achievements, which require unlocking EVERYTHING, absolutely give it a spin. If you do care, absolute nightmare.

This game is the definition of good accessibility to me, but I do have some slight criticisms about the progression and gameplay, so I will be using the good old +/- system here. + Menu UI is all visual. I believe anyone can learn to navigate it in 5-10 minutes, no matter the language they speak. + Pixel art style is cute and nice and does a mostly good job in visually distinguishing the obstacles from the marbles you need to collect in order to progress and unlock minigames and collectibles. + The game flow itself is simple but effective, with lovely randomized music which changes every 10 seconds with the games. +/- The minigames aren't that complex at all (like the game advertises may I add!), so if you expect crazy intensity, then this game isn't for you. The game works as en easy time killer and quick dopamine hit, nothing more, nothing less. But it does it well! + Main game speeds up or slows down depending on how well you do AND saves the current difficulty you're on upon exiting (being an endless game which you can exit and resume at any time). So in the main mode, you won't have to wait for the game to speed up from the beginning every time, which is a complaint I saw from some earlier reviews. + For those who want it, there is a separate endless mode which does start slow each time and has the slot machine bit removed. + And for those who want a more punishing difficulty, there is also a mode where you have a life-system, so it's all about how far you can get without getting hit. You can also play any of the minigames separetely! + GAME CHANGER: Don't like a specific minigame or bg music track? You can toggle them on/off from the menu chest icon. This removes that specific game/track from the loop. I'm happy the toggling is a feature, because I found one minigame I did not enjoy at all, the pirate ship minigame. Nothing wrong with the style, the projectiles just get near impossible to predict on the hardest difficulty. The other minigames rarely have this problem. - The overall progression of unlocking things is a bit too grindy and slow for achievement seekers, because you can and WILL get duplicates of some of the skins. I see no reason on why that is necessary for a game like this! Fortunately the new minigames themselves seem to have a pretty high unlock-rate. - The slot machine animation should also be skippable since it sometimes ruins the flow of the game. I also cannot see a reason to why you can't unlock anything by playing the other modes, such as the one-life mode. Maybe have an option to toggle on/off the slot machine for the modes besides the main one? EDIT: +++YOU CAN unlock stuff from the other modes without having the slot machine interruptions every few games! You just need to go into the main mode in order to use the slots every once a while, but it should automatically recognize that you have marbles collected from other modes! Good implementation! This is more so a personal request, but I think the game would really benefit from an option to change the time intervals of when the games switch. For example options for 5 seconds, then 10 seconds (default), 15 seconds and 20 seconds. I think some players could enjoy a faster paced version of this game. In conclusion, I'd say this game is worth getting (at least on sale) if you need a simple but effective game to get addicted to whenever you're bored. A good dopamine hit for ADHD-brained people, just don't expect it to hold out forever unless you're fine with some repetition with the minigames.

The difficulty of levels goes up and down at the same time. There are two mini games I hate so much constantly appeared, I think they show more often than the others piss me off, I did so good at the others and these two ruin the game. I think I have more patient than other people and by now they probably already think this game is boring. And some really tricky score point showed up in the marbles part. Honestly ready to give a bad review, but I do enjoy it at the beginning. And again I'm a kind and loving and fun person so I forgive u :p

Dopamine junkies take note: pureya is distilled video game, taking all the trappings of an addictive gameplay loop - collectibles, easy-to-learn-hard-to-master skill progression, minigames, virtual pachinko - and condensing them into a tight package that doesn't demand any more than ten seconds from your attention span at a single time. The feeling one gets from playing this game is akin to scrolling through a tailored social media feed or grinding out levels in an RPG in a good way. It's repetitive, but just engaging enough that it's hard not to spend hours glued to the screen in an elated trance-like state, which is an aspect the developers were surely aware of considering the breadth of little trinkets you unlock as you play and the amount of skill and practice some of the game's achievements demand of you. Some of the minigames can feel a bit unfair at times due to the RNG, but that's probably more so due to the fact that I haven't met this game's skill ceiling yet than any design flaw inherent in them. 8.5/10 - it feels like my brain is melting

Cute and oddly extremely compelling. pureya successfully taps into the "fun for its own sake" side of WarioWare games, as well as the "I'm addicted to crack" side by focusing on skill expression and pure play over fail states. These are some really good microgames! A couple feel like they control a little too generically, limiting their inherent fun factor, but that didn't stop me from utterly losing control of myself to the addictive game loop that never ended. My ears continued to enjoy the pleasant, ever-changing music and punchy sound effects. This game is larger than the sum of its parts.
